Obama's War Against America

In 1989, following her tenure as President Ronald Reagan’s ambassador to the United Nations, Jeane Kirkpatrick described how the Palestinians have used the UN to destroy Israel.

Following outgoing US President Barack Obama’s assault on Israel at the UN Security Council last Friday, longtime UN observer Claudia Rossett wrote an important article at PJMedia where she recalled Kirkpatrick’s words.

In “How the PLO was legitimized,” published in Commentary, Kirkpatrick said that Yasser Arafat and the PLO worked “to come to power through international diplomacy – reinforced by murder.”

Kirkpatrick explained, “The long march through the UN has produced many benefits for the PLO. It has created a people where there was none; a claim where there was none. Now the PLO is seeking to create a state where there already is one. That will take more than resolutions and more than an ‘international peace conference.’ But having succeeded so well over the years in its campaign to delegitimize Israel, the PLO might yet also succeed in bringing the campaign to a triumphant conclusion, with consequences for the Jewish state that would be nothing short of catastrophic.”

As Rossett noted, in falsely arguing that Obama’s support for Friday’s UN Security Council Resolution 2334 is in line with Reagan’s policies, Obama’s UN Ambassador Samantha Power deliberately distorted the historical record of US policy toward Israel and the PLO-led UN onslaught against the Jewish state.

As Rosett noted, in stark contrast to Power’s self-serving lie, neither Reagan nor George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton nor George W. Bush would have ever countenanced a resolution like 2334.

Obama’s predecessors’ opposition to the war against Israel at the UN was not merely an expression of their support for Israel. They acted also out of a fealty to US power, which is directly targeted by that war

It is critical that we understand how this is the case, and why the implications of Resolution 2334 are disastrous to the US itself.

Resolution 2334 is being presented as an “anti-settlement” resolution. But it is not an anti-settlement resolution.

Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria and neighborhoods in Jerusalem are being used – as they always have been used – as a means of delegitimizing the Jewish state as a whole, and legitimizing Palestinian terrorists and Islamic terrorists more generally. Resolution 2334 serves to criminalize Israel and its people and to undermine Israel’s right to exist, while embracing Palestinian terrorists and empowering them in their war to annihilate Israel.

America’s historic refusal to countenance such actions at the UN Security was never a purely altruistic position. It was also a stand for American power and the inherent justice of American superpower status and global leadership.

Throughout most of its history, the UN has served as a proxy battlefield first of the Cold War, and since the destruction of the Soviet Union, for the war against the US-led free world. Beginning in the early 1960s, the Soviets viewed the political war against Israel at the UN as a means to undermine the moral basis for the US-led West. If Israel, the only human rights defending state in the Middle East, and the US’s only stable ally in the region could be delegitimized, then the very coherence of the US-led Western claim to moral superiority against the totalitarian Soviet empire would be undone.

Hence, the first Soviet attempt at the UN to castigate Zionism, the Jewish national liberation movement, as a form of racism was made in 1965, two years before Israel took control of Judea and Samaria and united Jerusalem in the Six Day War.

That attempt failed. But nine years later the wording first raised in 1965 was adopted by the UN General Assembly which passed resolution 3379 slandering libeled Zionism as “a form of racism.”

With their automatic majority in the General Assembly and all other UN organs, the Soviets used the Palestinian war against Israel as a proxy for their war against America. After the demise of the Soviet Union, the Islamic bloc, backed by members of the former Soviet bloc, the non-aligned bloc and the Europeans continued their campaign. The only thing that kept them from winning was the US and its Security Council veto.

When Obama chose to lead the anti-Israel lynch mob at the Security Council last week, he did more than deliver the PLO terrorist organization its greatest victory to date against Israel. He delivered a strategic victory to the anti-American forces that seek to destroy the coherence of American superpower status. That is, he carried out a strategic strike on American power.

By leading the gang rape of Israel on Friday, Obama undermined the rationale for American power. Why should the US assert a sovereign right to stand against the radical forces that control the UN? If US agrees that Israel is committing a crime by respecting the civil and human rights of its citizens to live in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, then how can America claim that it has the right to defend its own rights and interests, when those clash with the views of the vast majority of state members of the UN? Following Obama’s assault on Israel Friday, Senators Lindsay Graham and Ted Cruz called for the US to end its financial support for the UN at least until the Security Council abrogates Resolution 2334. They are correct.

But it isn’t anger at how Obama has and is expected to continue to use the Security Council to imperil Israel that should inform the incoming Trump administration’s actions. Rather a determination to maintain US power and secure its national security requires that the UN be permanently defunded and defanged.

For eight years, through his embrace and empowerment of US enemies, betrayal and weakening of US allies, emaciation of the US armed forces and repeated apologies for America’s past assertions of global leadership, Obama has waged a determined war against US superpower status. The last vestige of the strategic and moral rationale for US power was the protection America afforded Israel at the Security Council.

Now with that gone, it has become a strategic imperative for the US to render the UN irrelevant. This can only be undertaken by permanently defunding this corrupt institution and using the US’s Security Council veto to end the UN’s role as the arbiter of international peace and security, by among other things, ending the deployment of UN forces to battle zones.

Only by stripping the UN of its financial wherewithal to assault US allies and American interests and by denying it the institutional and operational capacity to serve as an arbiter of disputes morally and legally superior to the US can America protect its sovereignty and advance its interests.

Only by denying those associated with the UN the prestige that confers to an institution legitimized by democrat and autocrat alike can the incoming Trump administration rebuild America’s reputation and power.

It is not surprising that Obama is carrying out the final act of his presidency at the UN. Obama has made no attempt to hide his desire to eliminate America’s independence of action. By elevating the post of UN ambassador to a cabinet level position at the outset of his presidency, Obama signaled his conviction that this corrupt institution is the equal of the US government.

This early signal was transformed into an open policy when Obama used the Security Council as a means to bypass the US Senate in implementing his nuclear deal with Iran.

Now, by ignoring the near consensus position of both parties that the US should block anti-Israel resolutions from being adopted at the Security Council and plotting further action against Israel at the Security Council in his final weeks in office, Obama has made clear his position and his aim.

Obama is not leading the war against Israel at the Security Council simply to advance the PLO’s war for the annihilation of Israel. He is acting in this manner to undermine the legitimacy of American power.

Obama’s strategic campaign against his country can only be defeated by a counter campaign by his successor.

Luckily, by eschewing multilateral entanglements in favor of bilateral partnerships during his presidential campaign, President-elect Donald Trump has demonstrated that he understands the threat and will adopt the only possible means of countering it. To reassert and rebuild the rationale for American power, the Trump administration must permanently defund the UN and reject its legitimacy as an institution of global governance.

UN Declares War on Judeo-Christian Civilization

It is a dreadful manipulation to try erase all Jewish and Christian history, to make believe that all the world was originally and forever only Islamic. It is a jihad.

By: Giulio Meotti, The Gatestone Institute 12/28/2016

2016 has been a sumptuous year for the anti-Semites at the United Nations. The UN Security Council just targeted the only democracy in the Middle East: the State of Israel. The outgoing Obama Administration reportedly orchestrated what even Haaretz called a “hit and run” campaign in UN to denigrate the Jewish State and leave it to a fate where only conflict and hate loom. This is a cultural genocide that is no less dangerous than terror attacks. It is based on anti-Semitic lies and creates the atmosphere not for achieving “peace,” as disingenuously claimed, but for perpetuating war.

UNSC Resolution 2334 is the culmination of a dizzyingly fruitful year for anti-Semites. Last November, committees of the UN General Assembly in a single day adopted 10 resolutions against Israel, the only open society in the Middle East. How many resolutions have been approved against Syria? One. How many against the rogue state of North Korea? One. How many against Russia when it annexed Crimea? One.

‘Obscene’ – Syria Drafts Anti-Israel Resolution

Hillel Neuer of UN Watch observed: “Even as Syrian president Bashar Assad is preparing for the final massacre of his own people in Aleppo, the UN adopted a resolution — drafted and co-sponsored by Syria — which falsely condemns Israel for “repressive measures” against Syrian citizens on the Golan Heights. It’s obscene.”

Not a single resolution was approved for those states, which really abuse human rights, such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Venezuela, China or Cuba, not to mention many virtual tyrannies throughout Africa. Only one resolution was approved for the “Palestinian refugee properties,” but not even a single mention for the property of the Iraqi Christians in Mosul.

Another resolution in this racist banquet of the United Nations concerned the “application of the Geneva Convention in the occupied territories.” There are hundreds of territorial disputes in the world, from Tibet to Cyprus, but only Israel deserves to be called out?

According to the liars at the United Nations, the most evil country in the world is Israel. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad, and Jordan’s Prince Zeid al Hussein are sponsoring even now a “blacklist” of international companies that have ties with Israeli companies in Judea, Samaria, eastern Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, to facilitate boycotting Israel in the evident hope of economically exterminating the only democracy and pluralistic nation in the region: the Jewish State.

The UN Envoy for Children and Armed Conflict, Leila Zerrougui of Algeria, suggested also including the Israeli army in the blacklist of countries and groups that regularly cause harm to children, along with Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, the Islamic State, the Taliban, and countries such as the Congo and the Central African Republic, infamous for their child-soldiers – but of course, not the Palestinians, who continue to promote using children as combatants and children as “martyrs.” How is it that Western jurisprudence, created after the Second World War to prevent more crimes against humanity, is now being used to perpetuate more crimes against democracies?

The UN women’s rights commission condemned Israel as the world’s only violator of women’s rights. Not Syria, where Assad’s forces use rape as a tactic of war, nor the Islamic State, which enslaves women from religious minorities. Not Saudi Arabia, where women are punished if they do not wear the Islamic full-covering clothing in scorching temperatures or drive a car or even leave the house. Not Iran, where “adultery” (which can include being raped) is punishable by being stoned to death. And if Palestinian men beat their wives, it’s Israel’s fault, argued UN expert Dubravka Simonovic with a straight face.

The UN’s World Health Organization also singled out Israel as the only violator in the world of “mental, physical and environmental health,” despite Israel being the only state in the world actually to give medical care to its enemies (ask Hamas leaders’ children).

Canadian law professor Michael Lynk was then appointed as the UN’s “impartial” investigator of alleged Israeli human rights violations despite his long record of anti-Israel lobbying, including his board membership on many pro-Palestinian organizations, including Friends of Sabeel and the National Council on Canada-Arab Relations.

Last October, the UN cultural agency, UNESCO – by magically declaring ancient Biblical Jewish sites “Islamic”, even though Islam did not historically exist until the seventh century, hundreds of years later – pretended, with the villainous complicity of the West, to erase the Jewish-Christian roots of Jerusalem.

Names Matter

It is a dreadful manipulation to try erase all Jewish and Christian history, to make believe that all the world was originally and forever only Islamic. It is a jihad. That is what a jihad looks like. It is not just orange jumpsuits, beheadings and slavery. If one can erase and rewrite history, one can redirect the future. If you do not know where you are coming from, what values will you defend or fight for?

Names matter. If it is Jewish, then it is called “Judea and Samaria”; if it is “Palestine,” you can say the “Jews stole it” and that Israel is a “colonialist construct” based on “injustice.” Why then is no one is pointing to the entire continent of South America, conquered from the native Indians by Cortés, Pizarro and Europeans with guns?

The latest UN Security Council resolution against Israel is not only about “settlements”, but the Old City of Jerusalem. Its members want to reset history not at 1967, but at 1948, the year Israel was born.

When Marcel Breuer and Bernard Zerfuss designed UNESCO’s building in concrete and glass at the Place Fontenoy in Paris, and Pablo Picasso donated frescoes to it, they most likely imagined the rebirth of Western culture after the tragedies of war, the Holocaust and the Nazi nightmare. Never in any other spot on earth were words such as “education,” “science,” “culture”, “freedom,” “peace” and “brotherhood” repeated so many times. There was hope and commitment that the future would be better – not worse. But the dream lasted no longer than the few minutes of the announcement.

The Soviet Union had in fact already stained UNESCO’s cultural programs with the red of Communism, such as when UNESCO promoted a “new world information order,” the goal of which goal was to end the dominance of the Western press — presented as a “threat” to the “cultural identity” of “Third-World” nations. Under the Eiffel Tower, the authoritarian and anti-Western Third World then took control of the UN cultural center, which became, according with the Washington Post, “overly bureaucratic, costly, wasteful and imbued with an anti-Western, anti-capitalist bias.”

Since then, Israel continues to be treated as a pariah by these ideological and corporeal criminals on the Seine. Even after that, in 1975 the UN body “tipped its hand” by propagating the anti-Semitic blood libel of “Zionism is racism.”

Last month, the president of the UN General Assembly, Peter Thomson, sported the famous checkered scarf, the keffiyah, a symbol of the “Palestinian resistance” (read terrorism). This is simply the continuation of the cultural obliteration of Israel, which is supposed to justify next its physical obliteration.

Big Breakthroughs with Muslims

12/14/2016

Is Israel diplomatically isolated? Israel’s recent diplomatic global breakthroughs, including into Muslim countries, prove otherwise.

By: Ruthie Bloom/The Algemeiner

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been “engaged in activist diplomacy that involves diversifying the country’s foreign relations,” a high-ranking former Israeli official told The Algemeiner on Tuesday, as the premier landed in Baku, the first stop on a historic two-day visit to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

“As a result” of Netanyahu’s efforts, said former Foreign Ministry director-general Dore Gold, “new diplomatic connections have been established in Africa — and now are being forged in former Soviet Central Asia. In both cases, the prime minister or his representatives have extended these contacts to Muslim states, as well.”

Gold, who traveled to Guinea and accompanied Netanyahu to four other African countries over the summer, explained a key impetus behind the initiative. “Hopefully, in the years ahead, this activist diplomacy will lead to new voting patterns in several international institutions, such as the UN,” he said.

Covert Connections with Mideast Countries

In an on-stage interview with The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg at the 13th Annual Saban Forum in Washington, DC earlier this month, US Secretary of State John Kerry said: “There will be no separate peace between Israel and the Arab world…I’ve heard several prominent politicians in Israel sometimes saying, ‘Well, the Arab world’s in a different place now. We just have to reach out to them, and…then we’ll deal with the Palestinians. No. No, no and no. There will be no advance and separate peace with the Arab world without the Palestinian process and without the Palestinian peace.”

When asked about this, Gold said, “Israel has its own interest in dealing with the Palestinian issue, but it doesn’t have to be a prerequisite for all of its international diplomacy.” Furthermore, he added, “States are ultimately motivated by their national interest, and Israel is able to address the economic and security concerns of many countries today. While in parts of the Arab world, the Palestinian issue is still extremely salient, elsewhere it is far less of a front-burner issue. And though these countries perhaps prefer more subtle connections with Israel, they want these connections nevertheless.”

Gold concluded: “There is a new world emerging today, and not everyone is aware of its implications.”

In an interview with The Algemeiner in October, Gold said that though the adoption by UNESCO of a resolution that ignored Jewish ties to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem caused many people to question the value of Israel’s new diplomacy, “such an attitude does not recognize the important advances that have already been made. The total number of states abstaining and voting against the resolution was greater than the number of states that actually supported it. It is important to remember that changes in UN voting will take time, and no one should look for instant gratification in this area.”

Obama refuses to renew sanctions but becomes law anyway

12/16/2016 - AP

The Iran Sanctions Act has become law again for the next decade, despite Obama’s reservations.

In an unexpected reversal, US President Barack Obama declined to sign a renewal of sanctions against Iran but let it become law anyway, in an apparent bid to alleviate Tehran’s concerns that the US is backsliding on the nuclear deal.

Although the White House had said that Obama was expected to sign the 10-year-renewal, the midnight deadline came and went Thursday with no approval from the president. White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Obama had decided to let it become law without his signature.

“The administration has, and continues to use, all of the necessary authorities to waive the relevant sanctions” lifted as part of the nuclear deal, Earnest said in a statement.

Under the Constitution, the president has 10 days after Congress passes a bill to sign it, veto it or do nothing. If Congress has adjourned, failing to sign it is a “pocket veto” that prevents the bill from becoming law. But if Congress is still in session, the bill becomes law with no signature. Although lawmakers have returned home for the holidays, Congress technically is still in session and holding “pro-forma” sessions this week.

Obama’s Final Symbolic Acts

Though Obama’s move doesn’t prevent the sanctions renewal from entering force, it marks a symbolic attempt by the president to demonstrate disapproval for lawmakers’ actions. The White House has argued that the renewal is unnecessary because the administration retains other authorities to punish Iran, if necessary, and has expressed concern that the renewal could undermine the nuclear deal.

Iran had vowed to respond if the sanctions were renewed, arguing that they violate the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, which eased sanctions in exchange for curbs on Iran’s nuclear program. Iran’s government has complained to the United Nations about the renewal, and on Tuesday, Iran’s president ordered up plans to build nuclear-powered ships and to formally accuse the US of violating the terms of the deal.

Yet US lawmakers argued that renewing the law, first passed in 1996 and renewed several times since, was critical to maintaining pressure on Iran to abide by the deal and to pushing back on Tehran’s other troubling behavior in the region. The bill passed the Senate unanimously and the House by an overwhelming margin.

The Obama administration stressed that Iran will be unaffected by the renewal as long as it continues honoring the nuclear deal. Secretary of State John Kerry said he told his Iranian counterpart that “to ensure maximum clarity,” he would issued new, redundant waivers exempting Iran from sanctions lifted under the deal.

“Extension of the Iran Sanctions Act does not affect in any way the scope of the sanctions relief Iran is receiving under the deal or the ability of companies to do business in Iran consistent with the JCPOA,” Kerry said, using an acronym for the nuclear deal.

President-elect Donald Trump has been sharply critical of the nuclear deal and threatened to try to renegotiate it,. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he plans to lobby Trump to undo the deal. Republican supporters of the sanctions have argued that renewing them would ensure that Trump has the authority to reinstate penalties eased by Obama.

Under the nuclear deal, the US and world powers suspended sweeping oil, trade and other financial sanctions that had devastated Iran’s economy. In exchange, Tehran agreed to roll back its nuclear program, though the deal’s critics say the agreement is flawed because it did not halt all Iranian activity and because key restrictions eventually expire.

Biblical Message in Recent Wave of Terrorist Arson

“And call ye on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of Hashem; and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God.’ And all the people answered and said: ‘It is well spoken.’” I Kings 18:24 (The Israel Bible™)

As fires rage across the Carmel region, the result of terrorist arson, some Israelis look to the Bible to understand a deeper lesson of what these flames mean.

A national emergency was declared  as a fire of enormous proportions threatens entire regions in Israel. Over 60,000 residents were evacuated from the Haifa area, and public transportation was shut down in certain areas. Several houses and automobiles were consumed by the flames. Hundreds of firefighters struggled to react as fires cropped up suddenly in hundreds of separate spots, indicating the blazes were set intentionally. Greece and Cyprus sent fire-fighting airplanes to help. Newly set fires now threaten Jerusalem and the surrounding area.

Israel’s police chief Roni Alsheich said on Thursday afternoon that there were “some cases of arson, and lots of cases that are not arson…. It’s likely that there is a nationalistic motive in some of the arson cases.” Alsheich added: “Some suspects have been arrested… I don’t think it is organized (arson).”

Education Minister Naftali Bennet (Jewish Home) had no doubts, telling Channel 2 News the fires were  “a major wave of arson… terrorism in every sense of the word.”

Malkah Fleisher, a Jerusalem resident originally from Texas, had no doubts that this was an attack on Israel, but she understood a deeper lesson in the tragedy. She opened her Bible and saw a clear link between the fires raging now and fire that once raged in the same place so many years ago.

“It dawned on me that this is not the first time the nation of Israel has seen fire on Mount Carmel,” she told Breaking Israel News. Fleisher took to social media and posted a powerful message, comparing the blaze raging out of control on the Carmel Mountain today to the holy fire Elijah the Prophet called down from the heavens when he faced off against the priests of Ba’al.

And call ye on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of Hashem; and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God.’ And all the people answered and said: ‘It is well spoken.’ I Kings 18:24

“Today, on this site of holy fire, our enemies are using fire against us. Is it a divine message for the nation? I’m not a prophet, I can’t rightly say,” she posted on Facebook. “But I KNOW that the duel is still on between Israel and our physical and spiritual enemies. May we merit to witness the destruction of those who seek to destroy us, and another miraculous rain on Carmel.”

Elijah on Carmel (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)

“We need to recall the true value of that mountain and our ancient relationship with it, if not also to take the opportunity to do some introspection as that beloved mountain fights the flames which are trying to consume it,” Fleisher wrote. “The war for the mountain is still on. When the Jewish people know who they are and why they live on Har hacarmel – or anywhere else in Israel – they will have the confidence to do what is right. If those stories can come to our aid, then they are still a little bit alive.” Malkah’s husband, Yishai Fleisher, the international spokesman for the holy city of Hebron, also learned a deep lesson while staring into the flames set by the enemies of Israel.

“The real tragedy is that these terrorists have a connection to nature and the land, but they use it to destroy,” noted Fleisher. “They know that the conditions, the drought and the strong winds, are perfect for this type of attack.”

“If we escaped the fires of the Holocaust, we’re  certainly not going to succumb to this,” stated Fleisher, quoting the prophet Obadiah.

And the house of Jacob shall be a fire and the house of Joseph a flame and the house of Esav for stubble and they shall kindle in them and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esav; for Hashemhath spoken. Obadiah 1:18

“This fire they lit will come back again, but in the manner that the prophet said,’ noted Fleisher.

Arson became a call to battle as Arabs flooded social media, praising the fires. Jerusalem Post reported that “Tel_Aviv_IsBurning” was the most common Arabic hashtag trending on Arab social media platforms on Thursday morning, many citing recent legislation to limit early morning muezzin (calls to prayer broadcast over loudspeakers) as the cause for what they saw as divine retribution.

Fleisher compared the burning of forests to the Philistines stopping up Abraham’s wells in order to drive Isaac away.

Now all the wells which his father’s servants had digged in the days of Avraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth. Genesis 26:15

“The Philistines needed the water also,” noted Fleisher. “But they hated Isaac so much, and recognized that he was stronger, but their hatred for him, and for his God, was greater than their love of life,” said Fleisher. “The Jews have a connection to the land but we use it to make the desert bloom. This arson makes it so clear that it isn’t about a nationalist struggle. They don’t want to build. They just want to watch the land burn.”

“What they don’t understand is that the Jews have always and will always come back from the ashes. Jews are used to this,” Fleisher concluded. “We will just develop better fire-fighting systems and ways to grow forests. Our fire is a fire of creation, of building and family, of channeling God into the world.”

Obama's Iranian Lies

Senator Obama opposed naming Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps a terror group even while it was closely involved in organizing attacks against American soldiers in Iraq. Then, as part of his dirty deal with Iran, he secretly sent a fortune in foreign cash on airplanes linked to the IRGC.

And, as another part of the secret ransom deal with Iran, he lifted UN sanctions on Bank Sepah.

The United States has gone after plenty of banks for aiding terror finance, but Bank Sepah is somewhat unique in that it is a financial institution actually owned and operated by Islamic terrorists.

Bank Sepah is an IRGC bank. The IRGC, despite Obama’s denials, is an Islamic terror group with American blood on its hands. It is to Shiite Islam what ISIS is to Sunni Islam. And even the Democrats know it.

After the Khobar Towers bombing, which killed 19 Americans, President Clinton sent a message to the leader of Iran warning that the United States had evidence of IRGC involvement in the attack.

More recently, Secretary of State John Kerry admitted that the IRGC have been “labeled as terrorists” when discussing how the Shiite terror organization will benefit from Obama’s sanctions relief.

Bank Sepah however had been sanctioned for something bigger than terrorism. The scale of bombings it was involved in could make the Khobar Towers attack seem minor. Sepah had been sanctioned for being “involved in nuclear or ballistic missile activities.”

Among other activities, it had helped Iran buy ballistic missile technology from North Korea.

Iran’s nuclear weapons program would only be halfway complete if it gets the bomb. It also needs missiles to be able to strike Israel, Europe and eventually America. That’s where North Korea and Bank Sepah come in. Bank Sepah helps keep Iran’s ballistic missile industry viable. By delisting it, Obama aided Iran’s ballistic missile program just as he had earlier aided its nuclear program.

Obama’s holistic approach to the Iranian bomb is to help the terror state assemble the physical components it needs to become a nuclear power. And the truth is hidden within the secret deals.

There are secret deals that Obama made with Iran that we already know about. There are secret deals that we suspect exist. And there are secret deals whose existence we are not even aware of.

Obama rang in Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, by assuring the Rabbis on a conference call that they didn’t need to worry about Iran nuking anyone because “every pathway to a nuclear weapon is now closed off.”

That’s funny because last year he was still claiming that under his deal in 13 years Iran’s breakout time will, “have shrunk almost down to zero.” If every pathway to a nuclear weapon is closed, how could Iran possibly have zero breakout time to make the occasion of the bar mitzvah of his dirty nuclear deal?

And which Obama do you believe? Try neither.

The secret document revealed earlier this year by the AP showed that Iran would be able to get its uranium enrichment in gear after 11 years and more than double its enrichment rate. What happens by the thirteenth year? Then Iran gets a blank check on centrifuges. That’s what Obama really meant.

Then breakout time to the bomb drops from a year to six months. Or even less. Until it hits zero.

But Ernest Moniz, Obama’s sniveling Secretary of Energy, assured the AP that it wouldn’t be a problem because Iran would only be allowed to store 300 kilograms of low-enriched uranium.

He lied.

Even as Obama was assuring the Rabbis of how thoroughly Iran was complying with his deal, new revelations were emerging of how he had helped Iran fake its compliance with the deal.

That’s the sort of thing you go to hell for. But it’s a little too late for Obama to worry about that.

The issue was simple. Obama wanted to lift sanctions on Iran. But Iran was not in compliance with even his mostly worthless agreement. So Obama decided that it was time to help the terror state fake it.

Iran was only allowed to keep 300 kilograms of low-enriched uranium. Obama agreed to upgrade that amount to “unknown quantities”. How much is an “unknown quantity”? Like the rest of Iran’s nuclear program, we don’t know. Low-enriched uranium, even in unknown quantities, doesn’t sound that scary. Except that according to a former U.N. weapons inspector, it can be used to produce highly enriched uranium. And that’s how you go from zero to a mushroom cloud over your city.

And then there are the large hot cells that Iran was allowed to keep running.

Secretary of Energy Moniz didn’t just lie to the AP. Lying to the media is practically an Obama indoor sport. He told the same lie in his testimony to the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. Senators were assured that Iran would be allowed to keep “only 300 kilograms of low (3.67 percent) enriched uranium hexafluoride, and will not exceed this level for fifteen years.” Iran didn’t have to wait 15 years to exceed that amount. Or even 15 minutes. Obama gave them a pass on it right out of the gate.

But Moniz wasn’t a rogue liar. He was telling the lie that he had been told to tell.

At the Rosh Hashana conference call with the Rabbis, Obama repeated the false claim that Iran had “shipped out 98 percent of its enriched uranium”. He told the lie even though the truth had already come out at the beginning of September. The 98 percent or 300 kilogram limit had been bypassed by him.

No one challenged him or called him out on his lie. And that is the problem.

Obama has lied about the Iran deal from the very beginning. And that’s not about to change.

The fairy godmother of Iran’s enrichment was Hillary Clinton. The “breakthrough” in the negotiations took place when she accepted some Iranian nuclear enrichment. And then it was just a matter of determining how much enrichment would take place officially and how much would take place unofficially that would be officially ignored or covered up by our own government.

That is how we got to the ticking atomic time bomb.

Obama hasn’t just turned a blind eye to Iran’s race to the bomb. He has empowered and enabled all elements of it from its nuclear program to its ballistic missile program. He has ensured that Iran would have the money, the manpower and the resources to become a nuclear power. He directed elements of our intelligence services and military to prevent Israel from striking Iran’s nuclear program. He even aided its core terrorist organization and its ballistic missile program.

This isn’t an error. It’s not cowardice. It’s treason.

A coldly calculated plan to turn Iran into a nuclear power is coming together. On the other end of it lies the horrifying death of millions.

Why would Obama and Hillary do such a horrifying thing? The American scientists and spies who helped the Soviet Union get the bomb believed that they were making the world a better place by limiting our ability to use nuclear weapons. Their treason almost led to the end of human life on earth.

The Iran deal is the second great wave of nuclear treason of the left. And the full truth is yet to be told.

Jews Allowed to Pray on Temple Mount for
First Time in 2,000 Years

In a not-so-subtle response to the recent UNESCO resolutions denying all connection between Jerusalem and the Jewish people, record-breaking numbers of Jews ascended to the Temple Mount over the three-week holiday period encompassing Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot – and in an incredible reversal of the usual status quo, some were even allowed to pray there, Haaretz reported.

While the number of non-Muslim visitors permitted on the Temple Mount is usually restricted, a relatively quiet holiday season allowed for record numbers of Jewish visitors to ascend and, marking a small but significant shift in enforced policy, to discreetly pray at the site, which is considered the holiest in Judaism. All told, over 3,000 Jews, many of them religious, visited the Mount over the holiday period.

“Jewish visitors reported a certain relaxation of the restrictions on prayer and religious rituals in the compound,” said Haaretz of the holiday visits. “For example, police did not interrupt anyone who was praying quietly on their own.”

The Temple Mount, under the control of the Jordanian Waqf, is often a contentious flashpoint for violence, rioting and unrest, usually perpetrated by Arabs angered by the presence of non-Muslims, who are forbidden from any kind of worship at the holy site. As a result, visiting hours for non-Muslims are short, and the number of people allowed up on any given day – visitors must pass through a police checkpoint before entering – is limited.

Should any non-Muslim be “caught” praying on the Mount, either by the Jordanian police or the Israeli security forces that patrol the compound, he or she is liable to be immediately ejected or banned from the site.

Visiting the Temple Mount is particularly meaningful during the holiday of Sukkot, which according to Biblical tradition is one of the three pilgrimage festivals when Jews were required to bring offerings to the Temple in Jerusalem. According to a statement by the organization of Temple Mount activists, this Sukkot, some Jews were even allowed to carry the lulav bundle of four species, ritually shaken on each day of the week-long festival, into the Temple Mount compound despite a police ban on any non-Muslim religious items inside.

“The police have gone back to exercising restraint and stopped harassing non-public prayers,” said the statement. “As a result, many Jews were able to pray on the Temple Mount quietly, and some even inconspicuously carried a lulav and the [other] species.”

The shift is likely temporary and unofficial, but its significance should not be overlooked. It comes at a moment when the world is questioning the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount in light of two UNESCO resolutions which ignore entirely the innate, historical, Jewish nature of the Temple Mount, instead referring to it with its Arabic name and calling it a “Muslim holy site of worship.”

Arch from Temple of Ba'al to Stand in New York

Despite initially cancelling plans to erect a reproduction of the Victory Arch that stood for 1,800 years in front of the Temple of Ba’al in Palmyra, the Institute for Digital Archaeology (IDA) has announced they will recreate the arch destroyed by the Islamic State (ISIS) in New York City’s City Hall Park on September 19th.

The original arch, built in the third century was a major archaeological site and one of Syria’s  biggest tourist attractions until it was destroyed by ISIS in October 2015. The arch was built by Roman Emperor Septimius Severus in front of a preexisting temple that was used to worship the pagan god, Bel, mentioned often in the Bible as Ba’al.

For he built again the high places which Chizkiyahu his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, II Kings 21:3

In March, the Institute announced they would be erecting full-size reproductions of the arch in London’s Trafalgar Square and New York City’s Time Square for the UNESCO Heritage Week. The 15-meter tall full-size reproduction is made using proprietary 3-D printing techniques. The IDA is recreating the partially destroyed arch as a showcase for new technology and,  ironically, as a symbol of protest against religious extremism.

The reproduction did go up in London as planned on April 19 during UNESCO Heritage Week, which coincided disturbingly with Beltane, a major pagan festival for worshiping Ba’al. The New York presentation was reportedly cancelled, but has now reappeared.

The IDA announced the upcoming exhibit on its website.

“There are few cities in the world as much defined by their architecture as New York.  The Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge — all symbols of the audacity, strength, technical prowess, diversity and optimism of what Ezra Pound called ‘the most beautiful city in the world.’ It is also a city that has known terrible loss — first and foremost the loss of life, but also the loss of familiar landmarks that helped inform the city’s identity.  The Triumphal Arch, a symbol of resilience in the face of loss, will be a fitting tribute to America’s great metropolis. The arch will stand in City Hall Park, surrounded by buildings adorned with classical features suggesting the common cultural roots of East and West. We hope that you will visit us this fall to consider the relationship between people and the places they inhabit.”

The announcement failed to specify the main aspect the destruction of the Palmyra Arch and New York City’s architectural losses have in common: Islamic extremism.

In an article on the upcoming event, Hebrew Nation Radio made a disturbing connection. The original arch was built commemorating the Roman victory over Partha. Many of the Parthans were from the remnants of the Ten Tribes of Israel.

“So the original purpose of this arch was to celebrate victory over the demise of the Northern kingdom, the 10 tribes of the house of Israel, aka Joseph/Ephraim,” wrote Hebrew Nation. “Is that really something that we want to put up in New York?”

One Pastor’s Argument for Christians to Switch to the Jewish Calendar

A new movement marking the growing ways many Christians are moving closer to their Biblical roots is calling for Christians to switch from the Gregorian calendar to the Hebrew calendar. But though such a move could bring the two Abrahamic religions closer, it may be a source of further conflict. The current year is an expression of when the Messiah is expected to arrive, and when (or whether) he already came – questions the religions have been arguing over for millennia.

Pastor Mark Blitz (El Shaddai Ministries)
Pastor Mark Blitz (El Shaddai Ministries)

Pastor Mark Biltz is an outspoken advocate for Christians to change from the Gregorian calendar to the Hebrew calendar used by the Jews, and wrote a bestselling bookon the subject. His El Shaddai Ministries has 40,000 followers and its website receives millions of hits from over 40 nations around the world every year. His original interest in the Hebrew calendar came from a fascination with the Biblical feasts, but this led to a difficulty with the Christian interpretation.

“Every month has special significance. The problem is most Christians are plucking at planting time and planting at plucking time because they don’t know what day it is,” Pastor Biltz told Breaking Israel News, giving a practical example of this confusion.

“Passover is when Jesus died and Easter is when he was resurrected. Last year, Easter came one month before Passover. How can you celebrate the resurrection before the death?”

He gives a powerful reason for using the Hebrew calendar. “It is God’s calendar and not man’s,” stated Pastor Biltz, basing this on a Biblical verse.

And God said: “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years.” Genesis 1:14

He understands this as the source for the Hebrew calendar being lunisolar, a blend of lunar and solar. The Hebrew month begins with the sighting of the new moon. An extra month is added seven times in a 19-year cycle, ensuring that the holidays remain in their proper seasons.

Changing to a Hebrew calendar is not a simple matter. From the start of the year (Rosh Hashana rather than January 1) to the start of the day, the calendars are supremely different. Jews begin their day at sunset, based on the verse in Genesis, causing days to be offset.

And there was evening and there was morning, one day. Genesis 1:5

Even the weeks of the calendar are different. The Jewish week is focused on the Sabbath, which begins Friday evening and lasts until Saturday evening. The Christians have their Sabbath on Sunday. In the modern business world, this means that the Israeli work week begins on Sunday, usually with a truncated Friday, while the rest of the world begins their work week on Monday morning.

The years are also divided according to different reference points. Christian years are ordered in base ten, packaged as decades and centuries, while the Jews in the land of Israel measure the passage of the years in base seven, with seven shmittah (sabbatical) years adding up to one jubilee every 50 years.

The Gregorian calendar is a product of the Catholic Church. Established by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 by papal decree and used by most Western countries, it is a solar calendar of 365 days, with one day added every fourth year. This ensures that the months correspond to specific seasons. There is no correlation between the date and the phases of the moon.

The calendar year is an even deeper conflict. The Gregorian calendar begins in the year of Jesus’s birth, whereas Jewish calendar is counted from the year of Creation, though it is not understood as literal by most Jews, who interpret the first days of creation as lasting for potentially millions of years.

In an article comparing the Hebrew and Christian calendars, Dr. David Reagan of Lamb and Lion Ministries noted an implication for the Hebrew date, 5776, relevant for both Christians and Jews: the arrival of the Messiah. The Jewish sages taught that the latest possible date for the Messiah to come was at the end of the year 6000, based on the six days of creation followed by the Sabbath. This concept, originally adopted in Christian Apocrypha, faded due to Roman Catholic amillennial teachings, but Dr Reagan cited a recent resurgence.

“The turning point came with World War I. It destroyed the concept of postmillennialism which most Protestants had adopted,” explained Dr. Reagan.

Postmillennialism is the belief that Jesus’s second coming will be after a Golden Age in which Christian ethics prosper, as opposed to premillennialism which places the second coming before this prophesied Golden Age.

But Pastor Biltz gave an additional, simpler reason for following the Hebrew Calendar: “5777, next year, is very auspicious for the Messiah, so that’s the year I go by.”

How Both Political Parties Line Up

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Votes Overwhelmingly in Favor of Investment Screen!

A sea of green as Lutherans vote in favor of an investment screen

Huge news! Moments ago, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) voted overwhelmingly -- by an estimated 90% -- to create an investment screen that would identify and remove the Church's investments in corporations profiting from Israel's violations of Palestinian rights, and other human rights abuses around the world. The new screen has a broad reach, ensuring that the Church would avoid investments in corporations currently complicit in human rights violations as part of the Israeli occupation, as well as any future corporations that become complicit.

Lutherans vote overwhelmingly to end unconditional U.S. aid to Israel.

Just yesterday, the ELCA voted by a margin of 82% -- 751 to 162 -- calling for an end to unconditional U.S. aid to Israel.

ELCA marks the ninth denomination to engage in economic acts of conscience to support justice for Palestinians, following the Quakers, Mennonite Central Committee, United Methodists, Presbyterians, United Church of Christ, Unitarian Universalists, Catholic Conference of Major Superiors of Men, and the Alliance of Baptists -- many of those in 2016 alone!

Congratulations to our friends and member groups at the ELCA, and particularly members of Isaiah 58, who led this extraordinary campaign. Help us share the exciting news on Facebook and Twitter!

ELCA voting member Darla Thiele, Dakota name Shining Star Woman, had this to say before the vote:

As a Native woman, the situation in Palestine reminds me of what my people have gone through here in America. I have seen my people lose our land, our lives, our culture -- our songs, dances, spiritual ways. Like the Palestinians, we have no justice. Treaties have been broken… We talk about loving our neighbor. We talk about justice. But where is the justice?... Now is the time for the church to stop profiting from these injustices. Now is the time to bring healing, to bring peace, to bring justice.

Fulfillment of the Dead Sea Prophecy Has Begun

Almost ten times saltier than the ocean, nothing can live in the Dead Sea’s hypersaline environment – Or so scientists thought until recently. Scientific research has proved the existence of life at the bottom of the sea, but due to a unique set of circumstances, signs of life have begun appearing on its very shores, precisely as it is written in the Book of Prophets.

A young woman on a nature hike was shocked recently when she discovered freshwater ponds with fish on the shores of the Dead Sea. Samantha Siegel, a Jewish woman living in Jerusalem, often takes trips to the desert and the ancient body of water. On a recent visit, she encountered an incongruous sight with powerful implications: a prophecy appearing before her eyes that seemed to contradict the laws of nature.

The Dead Sea is, as its name implies, dead. More than 400 meters below sea level, it is the lowest point on dry land. No life can exist in its ultra-salty waters and its shores are coated with a thick layer of salt that kills any plant.

Its inhospitality has been documented for centuries. A mosaic on the floor of a church in Medeba, Jordan, showing a map for Byzantine pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land, illustrates this. It features a picture of fish swimming down the Jordan River and then turning around once they arrive at the waters of the Dead Sea.

The Bible, however, describes a very different picture of the region. Lot looked out on the valley where the Dead Sea is now and saw an incredibly fertile and well-watered region.

And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before Hashem destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Hashem. Genesis 13:10

The Bible relates that the landscape changed when the fire and brimstone destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah turned the valley into a wasteland. Indeed, people who visit the Dead Sea today would find it difficult to envision a garden in the arid region.

Even more perplexing are the Messianic prophecies that water will flow east from Jerusalem into the Dead Sea, and these bitter waters will fill up with fish and the surrounding desert will be teeming with life.

Then said he unto me: ‘These waters issue forth toward the eastern region and shall go down into the Arabah; and when they shall enter into the sea into the sea of the putrid waters the waters shall be healed. And it shall come to pass that every living creature wherewith it swarmeth whithersoever the rivers shall come shall live; and there shall be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters are come thither that all things be healed and may live whithersoever the river cometh. Ezekiel 47:8-9

The water level at the Dead Sea has been receding at the fantastic rate of up to one meter every year. This is due to water being diverted from the Jordan River for agricultural purposes and evaporation caused by the Dead Sea mineral works. The dropping water level has led to sinkholes appearing on the shores of the Dead Sea. On a visit to the arid region, Siegel discovered that many of these pools have been filling up with sweet fresh water, and even more incredibly, fish.

The proof is undeniable. Siegel produced a video in which fish are clearly seen swimming on the shores of the Dead Sea, and she films herself swimming in a large pool surrounded by green plants.  (Here is the video spoken of ... Dead Sea coming aliverd.)

Fresh water at the Dead Sea is a clear example of how the prophets were able to see things that remained hidden from scientists for thousands of years. In 2011, a team of researchers from Ben Gurion University in the Negev sent divers to the floor of the Dead Sea. This endeavor posed serious technical difficulties as the super-saline environment renders regular scuba gear inoperable. It was the first time such a dive had ever been made, and what they discovered was astounding.

The researchers discovered huge craters on the seafloor, 15 meters across and 20 meters deep. Fresh water was flowing from these craters, which were carpeted with mats of microorganisms, showing that the Dead sea was not entirely dead. The beginnings of the prophecy are in place, waiting to spring forth.

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this Biblical prophecy appearing in plain sight is, as Siegel stated in her video, “This is a big deal, and no one is really talking about it.”

Priestly Blessing Takes Place on Temple Mount, Under Muslims’ Watchful Eyes

July 15, 2016 / By

“For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 2:7 (The Israel Bible™)

Amihai Ariel, the father of Hallel Ariel, a 13-year-old Israeli girl who was brutally murdered on June 30, held a memorial ceremony for her on Tuesday on the Temple Mount. In an unmitigated act of bravery, he defied the Muslim religious authority and performed a powerful Temple ritual, right under their watchful eyes.

A group of 50 close friends and family surrounded Amihai, and his wife Rina, as they prepared to enter the VIP entrance to the Temple Mount compound, accompanied by Israeli police. Before ascending, Amihai Ariel blew a silver trumpet created to be used in the Third Temple. He also blew a shofar (ram’s horn), of the kind used in the Temple service.

Guards from the Waqf, the Muslim religious authority, joined the Ariels and the 200 others who were with them in order to ensure that the Jewish visitors adhered to all the specified conditions for non-Muslims at the site. These restrictions include a prohibition against all non-Muslim prayer, including any motions that could resemble praying or speaking to God.

Upon arriving at the exact location where the Kohanim, Jews of the priestly caste, used to stand and give the special blessing over the people, the group halted. Amihai Ariel is a Kohen, and the spot has a special significance for him. While bored Waqf guards and Israeli police looked on, Amihai gave a short lesson on what used to occur at that spot, but his explanation contained a hidden message.

“He is the one who gives us this blessing,” Amihai explained. “He blesses, and he will bless you. He guards and he will also guard you. He will protect this blessing, and the entire nation that stands here at Zion, and will be blessed by the entire world. He will rise up with us. His face will shine upon you, and he will be gracious unto you, he will give you grace. And not only that, he will choose you. The Lord will lift up His face unto you and give you peace. He will choose you so that Israel will be the one to spread his  light in the world, spread the peace and the completeness. That is the truth, with no lies. Peace and completeness to us, from here, and out to the entire world.”

A guest then explained, “At this point, in synagogues we say, ‘Amen’, but in the Temple, we would say, ‘Baruch Shem Kavod Malchuto L’Olam Va’ed’ (May His name be blessed forever and ever).”

The onlookers recited the final verse in unison.

What Amihai had accomplished was simply astounding: a Kohen blessed Jews on the Temple Mount articulating the prescribed Biblical verses hidden within what sounded like a regular speech.

May the LORD bless you and guard you –

יְבָרֶכְךָ יהוה, וְיִשְׁמְרֶךָ

May the LORD make His face shed light upon you and be gracious unto you –

יָאֵר יהוה פָּנָיו אֵלֶיךָ, וִיחֻנֶּךָּ

May the LORD lift up His face unto you and give you peace –

יִשָּׂא יהוה פָּנָיו אֵלֶיךָ, וְיָשֵׂם לְךָ שָׁלוֹם Numbers 6:23–27

Even more incredible was that the blessing was said outright in front of the Islamic Waqf.

When Breaking Israel News asked Amihai if that was indeed his intention, he answered unequivocally, “Yes, of course. As a Kohen, I blessed Israel.”

By violating the rules for entering the Temple Mount, he may be banned from visiting the site, or face even worse consequences. When asked if he was concerned about possible repercussions, his response was powerful and to the point.

“After my daughter is murdered, what more can they do to me?” he asked. “Ban me from the Temple Mount? Arrest me? What more can I possibly lose by blessing Israel? A Jewish man goes up to God’s mountain. I was trying to connect to God. So what are they going to do to me for doing such a thing?”

Ariel explained what he felt was the absolute need for such actions.

“It is clear that Israel needs to learn a lot about these things and what it really means for them, what the Temple really is,” Ariel explained. “I have heard people object to the idea of the Temple. These are people who buy meat and cook it, just to eat it for their base desires. They call me primitive because I think that eating meat is a powerful thing that should be sanctified.”

“I grow grapes in the Hills of Hebron. I want to bring my wine to the Temple and include God in what I do.”

Surprisingly, Ariel does not consider himself to be overly religious, despite his overt devotion to the Temple Mount.

“I think of myself as a very rational and realistic person. I am grounded, not mystical in any way,” he stated. “But when I look around and see the condition the world is in, I come to the conclusion that the world needs a place for God, his Temple in Jerusalem.”

Ariel understandably has little patience for politics or nuance.

“We need to start doing the work of building and so many people, for the wrong reasons, are stopping that from happening.”

Obama admin. sent taxpayer money to campaign to oust Netanyahu

Obama admin. sent taxpayer money to campaign to oust Netanyahu

By Stephen Dinan, The Washington Times

The State Department paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayers grants to an Israeli group that used the money to build a campaign to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in last year’s Israeli parliamentary elections, a congressional investigation concluded Tuesday.

Some $350,000 was sent to OneVoice, ostensibly to support the group’s efforts to back Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement negotiations. But OneVoice used the money to build a voter database, train activists and hire a political consulting firm with ties to President Obama’s campaign — all of which set the stage for an anti-Netanyahu campaign, the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations said in a bipartisan staff report.

In one stunning finding, the subcommittee said OneVoice even told the State Department’s top diplomat in Jerusalem of its plans in an email, but the official, Consul General Michael Ratney, claims never to have seen them.
He said he regularly deleted emails with large attachments — a striking violation of open-records laws for a department already reeling from former Secretary Hillary Clinton’s handling of official government records.

Mr. Netanyahu survived the election, and the U.S. spending was not deemed illegal because the State Department never put any conditions on the money. Investigators also said OneVoice didn’t turn explicitly political until days after the grant period ended.

“The State Department ignored warnings signs and funded a politically active group in a politically sensitive environment with inadequate safeguards,” said Sen. Rob Portman, chairman of the investigative subcommittee. “It is completely unacceptable that U.S. taxpayer dollars were used to build a political campaign infrastructure that was deployed — immediately after the grant ended — against the leader of our closest ally in the Middle East. American resources should be used to help our allies in the region, not undermine them.”

Sen. Claire McCaskill, the ranking Democrat on the subcommittee, said the Obama administration followed the law.

But she said their investigation exposed “deficiencies” in the State Department’s policies.

OneVoice had been politically active in Israel’s 2013 elections, which should have been a red flag to U.S. officials to put strict controls on how American taxpayers’ money was spent, the investigation said.

While it wouldn’t have necessarily disqualified the group, the State Department should have written a specific prohibition against using American money to influence a foreign election, the subcommittee said.

It’s part of a pattern of bad behavior at the State Department. The Government Accountability Office reviewed more than five dozen department grants and found officials cut corners and missed red flags in 80 percent of them.

The Israeli Embassy didn’t respond to a request for comment on the findings.

State Department spokesman John Kirby said they had not had time to go through the report and he couldn’t comment on it. He also didn’t comment on Mr. Ratney’s practice of deleting official records.

The Senate investigation found that the State Department funded two sister groups — OneVoice Israel and OneVoice Palestine — to hire a U.S. political consulting firm, recruit volunteers, build a social media network and run advertising.

But it was also building its anti-Netanyahu political strategy, at a time when the Israeli leader was quite controversial in U.S. politics, celebrated by Republicans but feuding with the Obama White House over differences in policy.

OneVoice told at least two State Department officials of its political plans, even as it was collecting taxpayer money. But the department “took no action in response,” the subcommittee concluded.

Mr. Ratney, one of the two officials, said he remembered getting an email from OneVoice, but didn’t recall seeing the attached file detailing the group’s political strategy.

The State Department was unable to recover the email, but investigators got it from OneVoice.

Mr. Ratney later told investigators he regularly deleted emails with attachments “in order to maintain my inbox under the storage limit.” He told investigators he “did not know [he] was required to archive routine emails.”

Glick: Moral Equivalence Has Become a Moral Atrocity

 Jerusalem Post - 7/7/16

We have reached the point where moral equivalence has become a moral atrocity.

The smart set in the West has insisted for over a generation that Israel and the Palestinians are morally equal. There are extremists, on both sides, they say. Both sides are responsible for the absence of peace.

The first serious outcry against this lie came immediately after the Palestinians began their terrorist war against Israel in September 2000. That war, incited, directed, funded, commanded and celebrated by Yassir Arafat and his henchmen, including his successor Mahmoud Abbas, began two months after Arafat overturned the table at Camp David in response to then prime minister Ehud Barak’s offer to withdraw from 95 percent of Judea and Samaria, all of Gaza and half of Jerusalem to enable the establishment of an independent state of Palestine in the areas.

The areas in question, Barak said, would be handed over to the PLO Jew free. The hundreds of thousands of Jews living in the areas set to become Palestine, would be forcefully evicted from their homes to ensure that the delicate, sensitive Palestinians, wouldn’t be troubled by the Jews with their “dirty feet,” in the words of Abbas.

That, of course, wasn’t enough for Arafat. And it was insufficient not because Barak failed to give him what he demanded. It was insufficient because his demands were insatiable. Arafat was never interested in peace.

As his deputy Faisal Husseini said at the time, the peace process was a “Trojan Horse.”

Its purpose was to get the PLO bases of operation inside of Israeli territory in order to expand its ability to destroy the Jewish state. This is the reason that despite the fact that the international community has given them more financial assistance than any other people in the history of humanity, the Palestinians have not built a society. They have received tens of billions of dollars in development aid and failed to develop an operating economy.

This failure isn’t due to incompetence or corruption.

It is simply that the Palestinians don’t want those things. They chose not to develop independent institutions.

They do not want to build a state. They have spent the money to transform Palestinian society into the most anti-Semitic society in the world where the vast majority of its people want to kill Jews and destroy Israel. They have transformed Palestinian society into a place where Jews have no right to live – not because of some sort of occupation, but because they are Jews, and Jews, they have been indoctrinated to believe, are an abomination.

Anyone with eyes in his head can see this. It has been obvious for 16 years.

The smart set’s failure to note reality back in September 2000 marked the beginning of its descent into moral oblivion.

Its first step down that road was when its members coined the pernicious term, “cycle of violence.”

“Cycle of violence,” means that there is no moral distinction between a murderer and a policeman, between a society geared toward annihilating its victim and its victim’s actions to prevent that from happening.

The latest consequence of this moral depravity came on Friday with the publication of the so-called Middle East Quartet’s much awaited report that is supposed to show us the way to peace. That report – like its predecessors insisted that a Jewish “settler” is the moral equivalence of a Palestinian murderer.

The day before the report was released, we saw – yet again – the evil empowering nature of that claim.

Thursday morning, a hate-drenched, demonic Palestinian murderer took a knife and stole into the town of Kiryat Arba – a “settlement.”

He broke into the Ariel family’s home. He walked into their children’s bedroom. He found 13 year old Hallel Yaffa asleep in her bed.

He stabbed her repeatedly. When there was no place left to stab her in her face and chest, he turned her over and continued stabbing her in the back.

The murderer set off the sensors in Kiryat Arba’s security fence when he traversed it. It took but three minutes for the community’s security team to get to the house. They shot and killed the Palestinian assailant and so prevented him from moving to the adjacent high school and transforming his slaughter into a massacre.

But Hallel was already gone.

The next day, the Mark family was driving along Highway 60. A Palestinian car carrying murderers drove up beside them and opened fire on Michael Mark, his wife Chavi and their children. Mark was murdered, his wife and daughter seriously hurt and his son was wounded as the car flipped over and over, after Mark lost control of the wheel.

On cue, the Palestinians began celebrating the murders and the murderers. The PLO governor of Hebron paid a condolence call at the home of Hallel’s killer.

The Palestinian media celebrated their crimes. And a new high quality animated film was released on Facebook directing viewers to murder MK Yehuda Glick. The film included driving directions to Otniel, and images of terrorists burrowing under the security fence to enter the community and avoid detection.

Amidst all of this, the Quartet released its report.

And although the report struck the tone of neutrality – both sides need to do this and both sides need to do that, the fact is that after 16 years of Palestinian atrocities against Israelis, the Quartet’s determination that they are the same is a moral atrocity.

The Quartet recommends that both sides “de-escalate tensions.” But of course, only the Palestinians are escalating tensions.

Both sides, the wise men tell us, “should take all necessary steps to prevent violence and protect the lives and property of all civilians.”

But only one side is fomenting violence and deliberately targeting civilians.

Both sides, the Quartet says, should “exercise restraint and refrain from provocative actions and rhetoric.”

But only one side is engaging in provocative actions and rhetoric, unless the Quartet says that Israel responding angrily to the slaughter of its children and families is acting provocatively – which of course is what they are implying here.

And it gets worse. The report includes an empty call for the Palestinians “to act decisively and take all steps within its capacity to cease incitement to violence and strengthen ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, including by clearly condemning all acts of terrorism.”

The Palestinians of course, will do no such thing.

Abbas is the engine of the incitement and the violence.

He always has been. And the fact that he’s been able to get away with this since taking over from Arafat 12 years ago shows that the moral miasma of the West has become a danger to world peace.

After pretending that the people who transformed Palestinian society into the hate-filled, murder applauding mob it has become are interested in doing the opposite, the Quartet turned its guns on Israel.

Israel needs to deny Jewish property rights. Israel needs to expand the powers of the Palestinian death cult into Area C – where all the Israeli communities are located and but two percent of the Palestinians live.

Israel needs to expand its security cooperation with Abbas’s US-trained militias that have been marinated in the same Jew hatred as the rest of the Palestinians, and have often propagated.

Sunday afternoon, hundreds of people stood silently outside the Ariel home in Kiryat Arba, waiting to enter the modest home to console the family. The landscape outside is pastoral.

The Ariels live off of their vineyard and the wine they produce.

Surrounded by the vines, and the hills, the Ariel’s homestead looks like the sort of place where nothing bad can happen. A quiet family of profound faith, the Ariels were just going about their quiet lives, raising their daughters, tending to their vines when the evil beyond their gate entered their home and struck.

That is the difference between the two sides. One wishes to tend his vineyard. The other wishes to destroy it.

It is black and white. It is a clear distinction.

The international community’s pernicious refusal to recognize this basic fact, after so many years, is a major reason that there is no peace, and there is so much bloodshed.

Netanyahu Condemns Attack, “You don’t murder a sleeping child for peace”

There was an outpouring of support and praise from the Palestinians for the Mohammed Taraireh, the terrorist who stabbed to death 13 year-old Hallel Yaffa Ariel, an American citizen, in her Kiryat Arba home yesterday.

Taraireh penetrated the security fence surrounding Kiryat Arba, adjacent to Hebron, and stabbed the young girl while she lay sleeping in her bed at home.

The 17 year old Palestinian then stabbed a member of the Kiryat Arba civilian security team, who managed to shoot and kill the terrorist. The man was seriously injured by bullet shrapnel to the upper body.

Taraireh’s house in Bani Na’im was decorated with Palestinian flags, while the IDF imposed a closure on the village.

Taraireh’s sister said on Palestinian television, “My brother is a martyr, praise be to God. May God avenge us upon the Jews. God willing, my brother will be happy in heaven. It’s enough to me that God supports (him).”

Tareirah’s mother appeared on video posted on the NY Times, saying, “My son died as a martyr defending Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque,” the Palestinian Media Watch organization quotes her as saying. “Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, he [my son] has joined the martyrs before him, and he is not better than them. Allah willing, all of them will follow this path, all the youth of Palestine. Allah be praised.”

Camera, a group devoted to monitoring and challenging perceived anti-Israeli news coverage, reported that the NY Times incorrectly translated the video of Tareirah’s mother. A blogger noted that when the mother referred to her son as “shahid” (martyr), the NY Times subtitle translated it as “my son”.

CAMERA pointed out several other errors in the translation, noting, “Where the mother says that of course anyone who would commit such an act is a ‘hero’,  the subtitle shows her saying the word ‘bold’ instead of hero.”

Rina Ariel, Hallel’s mother, addressed the mother of Tareirah in her eulogy for her daughter.

“I am standing here with a heart filled with pain and I am turning to you, the Arab mother, the Muslim who sent your son out to stab. I raised my daughter with love, but you and the Arab Muslim educators, you taught him to hate. Go, put your house in order,” she said tearfully.

“How do you eulogize a 13-and-a-half-year-old girl. Tell me what words to use to eulogize a flower, a pure soul, who is courageous and beautiful. Your only sin was that you were almost perfect,” Rena said.

The grief-stricken mother then called out to God, saying, “You gave me a present and now I am returning it to you. Take her. Hug her, because I will never again be able to touch her. Make room for her, so she can dance.”

Before the attack, Mohammed Tareirah posted photos of his cousin, Yusef Taraireh, on social media. Yusef, also of Bani Na’im,  was killed while perpetrating a vehicular attack at the entrance to Kiryat Araba in March. Mohammed Taraireh stated on these posts that it was his desire to be a martyr.

Israeli Prime Minister spoke on video, condemning the attack in harsh manner, saying, “You don’t murder a sleeping child for peace. You don’t slit a little girl’s throat to protest a policy you don’t like.”

The Palestinian Authority posted statements via WAFA,  the official PA news agency, crowning Tareirah, “Shahid”(martyr), considered their highest praise. This title is usually applied to terrorist when their family will receive monthly stipends.

Republican candidate Donald Trump reacted to the murder, saying, “The murderer has been hailed as a hero and a martyr by numerous Palestinian factions,” he added. “And the silence of the liberal media with respect to this horrific tragedy is deafening.”

A second terror attack on Thursday in Netanya was entirely unreported in Western media. Two Israelis were stabbed and seriously wounded. The terrorist was shot and killed by an armed civilian.

Muhammad is now a Presbyterian—Shocking! —  June 29, 2016 - Ron Cantor

Local Muslim Leader prays to Allah at Presbyterian Gathering

The most recent Presbyterian Church USA meeting acknowledged a new member of sorts—the ‘Prophet’ Muhammad. Wajidi Said was invited to pray to the Muslim God.

Allah bless us and bless our families and bless our Lord. Lead us on the straight path—the path of all prophets: Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad.”

“In the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful, let us praise the Lord… Peace be upon them and peace be upon Allah,” Said continued his prayer at the Presbyterian assembly. He was generous to also lift up the “bigots” and “Islamaphobes.”

He conveniently left out praying for “radical Islamic terrorists” because in our self-denying culture two lies are embraced:

  1. Radical Islamic terrorists are not Muslims, when in fact they are truer to the Koran than moderates. And anyone who thinks that terrorism has anything to do with the Koran (even though 99% of all terrorist attacks last year were perpetrated by those who identify as Muslims) is an “Islamaphobe.”
  2. The attack in Orlando (the reason the Muslim leader was invited to pray at the Presbyterian gathering) was perpetrated by a bigot and a homophobe—not a Islamic terrorist. (Are they going to blame the Turkey attack that killed 40 on the NRA or Homophobes too?)

Did the Presbyterians know about the man who was being compared to Jesus? Here are some facts about the ‘prophet’ Muhammad:

  • He married a six-year-old and consummated the marriage when she was nine.
  • He had sexual relations in the coffin with his dead aunt.
  • He had 11 wives and many more concubines or sex slaves.
  • In all he relations with 61 different women, many whom were raped.
  • He murdered 600-900 Jewish men as young as 13.
  • Owned and sold slaves.
  • Was horribly racist against blacks.

I could go on. The fact is that ISIS and other radical Islamist groups resemble true Islam far more than moderate Islam does. But here we have a supposed evangelical group allowing the false prophet and rapist to be praised next to the names of Moses and Abraham, and lowering Jesus, the Son of God, to the ranks of a notorious murderer. Remember, Peter was rebuked from heaven for comparing Jesus to Moses and Elijah on the mount of transfiguration…imagine God’s response when a mainline denomination puts Him in the same class as a pedophile?

While the leader of the meeting apologized “if anyone was offended,” he stated that the Presbyterians would continue the fight against “the rise in Islamaphobia.” … a fictitious disease that even Microsoft Word says is not a real word. If he really wants to conquer Islamaphophia, then conquer radical Islam, because that is the source.

And it should be noted that during the same gathering, the same folks who embraced a terrorist religion, pressured Remax to ceases doing business in Judea and Samaria (The West Bank) with Jewish landowners.

Presbyterian Church USA “Curses” Israel With Pro-BDS, Anti-Settlement Resolutions

Presbyterian Church USA passed a series of resolutions at its general assembly in support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, while calling on Israel to leave the disputed territories.

Among the measures passed by the Presbyterian Church includes the approval of a report, in a 429-129 vote, that seeks to examine the two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and possible alternatives “including but not limited to that of two sovereign states—Israel and Palestine.” The report says that Israel’s “policy trajectory of continued settlements and brutal occupation” is “deeply troubling.”

“Not only does it make a two-state solution increasingly difficult, if not impossible, to achieve, but the emerging, de facto single state’s systematic violation of Palestinian rights and democratic values is eroding Israel’s moral legitimacy,” the report adds.

Additionally, the Presbyterian Church passed a resolution calling for “prayerful study” of both the church’s support for the BDS movement and opposition to that movement. A third resolution urged the real estate company RE/MAX to stop sales of property within Israeli settlements in the disputed territories. At its previous general assembly in 2014, the Presbyterian Church narrowly passed a resolution calling for divestment from companies doing business in Israel.

The church’s Israel-Palestine Mission Network, which has lobbied for pro-BDS resolutions, praised the “advances made at this year’s General Assembly towards supporting a just and lasting peace in Israel and Palestine.”

Leading American-Jewish groups criticized the church’s moves.

“We are deeply disappointed with the Presbyterian Church’s decision to embrace motionwhich forward arguments in favor of a bi-national state and of the anti-Israel BDS campaign,” said Rabbi David Sandmel, the Anti-Defamation League’s director of interfaith affairs.

Emily Soloff, associate director of interreligious and intergroup relations at the American Jewish Committee, said that a “major Protestant denomination in the U.S. with deep roots in the Middle East has chosen to be a cheerleader for those whose vision of peace does not include the State of Israel.”

The Unitarian Universalists, another mainline Protestant church that held its general assembly last week, also voted on an Israel divestment measure. Despite gaining 54 percent of vote, the measure failed to secure the necessary two-thirds majority needed for passage.

Can Science Prove God’s Existence, Or is it a Matter of Faith Alone?

A world-renowned quantum physicist, performing an experiment to discover the true nature of the universe, announced to the world earlier this month that he had discovered incontrovertible proof of the existence of God. Some lauded his declaration of faith as a sign that science finally accepted religion, but a religious physicist in Israel was not impressed. He challenged scientists to take their faith one step further.

Michio Kaku is a highly respected American theoretical physicist. After conducting tests on what he calls “primitive semi–radius tachyons”, Kaku came to a remarkable conclusion: the only explanation for his results is that there must be a God.

“I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence,” he told the website Ferocesmente in an interview. “Believe me, everything that we call chance today won’t make sense anymore.

Dr. Michio Kaku (Photo: Michio Kaku Facebook)
Dr. Michio Kaku (Photo: Michio Kaku Facebook)

“To me it is clear that we exist in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.”

Kaku co-founded the revolutionary string theory, a widely-accepted theoretical framework in which the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings. In an article he wrote in Big Think, he defined this complicated subject in decidedly religious terms, claiming his theory “makes the statement that we are reading the mind of God”.

“It’s based on music or little vibrating strings thus giving us particles that we see in nature,” wrote Kaku. “The laws of chemistry that we struggled with in high school would be the melodies that you can play on these vibrating strings. The Universe would be a symphony of these vibrating strings and the mind of God that Einstein wrote about at length would be cosmic music resonating through this nirvana… through this 11 dimensional hyperspace – that would be the mind of God.”

He described science and religion as having the same goal: “To determine our true place and our true role in the Universe.”

In many ways, Kaku is trying to make peace between science and religion. “There has essentially been a divorce in the last century or so between that of science and the humanists,” Kaku told Big Think, “And I think that it’s very sad that we don’t speak the same language anymore.”

Despite his claiming an alliance with religion, Kaku’s scientific perception of God, whom he calls a “mathematician”, may not be compatible with the God to whom religious people pray.

He described his concept of God in an interview in 2011, citing his understanding of Albert Einstein.

“There really are two kinds of Gods. If God is the God of intervention, the personal God, the God of prayer, the God that parts the waters, then I have a hard time believing in that. Does God listen to all our prayers for a bicycle for Christmas, or to smite the Philistines? Einstein believed in the God of order and harmony, simplicity and elegance. The universe is gorgeous and it didn’t have to be that way.”

Professor Natan Aviezer of Bar Ilan University, a physicist and religious Jew, has a problem with Kaku’s explanation. Aviezer, who discussed the relationship between science and faith in his book “Modern Science and Ancient Faith”, says that Kaku’s belief is deism: a belief in the existence of a supreme being, specifically of a creator who does not intervene in the universe.

“This is an old idea, that the universe is intentionally designed so there must be a God,” Professor Aviezer told Breaking Israel News. “William Paley, an 18th-century Christian theologian, gave the watchmaker argument. If you find a watch in forest, then you can assume there is a watchmaker, because complicated things do not occur by themselves. In the same way, the universe proves the existence of its maker.”

However, “This argument is wrong,” stated the professor. “Complicated items do form by themselves. Crystals and chemical reactions are the most complicated things and they happen by themselves. My favorite example is snowflakes, which each form uniquely by themselves. But that is not proof there is a God.”

Men of faith, explained Aviezer to Breaking Israel News, are theists: believing in the existence of one God as creator of the universe, intervening in it and sustaining a personal relation to his creatures.

“You can’t prove the existence, or the non-existence, of God,” said Aviezer. “Our faith is simply that: faith. These arguments have always been around and there are no end of examples because this is what happens when secular scientists become amazed at their discoveries. What these scientists are doing is bringing supporting arguments. They aren’t proofs.”

Professor Aviezer concluded as only a religious scientist could. “It’s what I would naturally expect to see if there really was a God who made the world, but it doesn’t prove the existence of God.”

Obama’s Refugee Policy: Yes to Potential Terrorists, No to Victims of Genocide

By June 8, 2016 , 9:00 am

“Without doubt, Syrians of all confessions are being victimized by this savage war and are facing unimaginable suffering. But only Christians and other religious minorities are the deliberate targets of systematic persecution and genocide.” — U.S. Senator Tom Cotton, March 17, 2016.

Christians account for 10% of Syria’s total population — yet they account for less than 0.5% of the refugees received into America. Sunni Muslims are 74% of Syria’s population — yet 99% of those received into America. In other words, there should be 20 times more Christians and about one-quarter fewer Sunnis granted refugee status than there already have been.

ISIS is “taking advantage of the torrent of migrants to insert operatives into that flow.” — James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence.

Although the U.N. and U.S. know that Sunni refugees are terrorizing Christians in their camps, they abandon the true victims who deserve sanctuary in the West, while “humanitarianly” taking in their persecutors.

The Obama administration has been escalating a policy that both abandons Mideast Christians and exposes Americans to the jihad.

Late last year it was revealed that 97% of Syrian refugees accepted into the U.S. were Sunni Muslims — the same Islamic sect to which the Islamic State belongs— while fewer than half-a-percent were Christians.

This disparity has since gotten worse. From May 1 to May 23, 499 Syrian refugees — a number that exceeds the total number of refugees admitted during the last three years — were received into the United States. Zero Christians were among them; 99 percent were Sunni (the remaining one percent was simply listed as “Muslim”).

These numbers are troubling.

First, from a strictly humanitarian point of view — and humanitarian reasons are the chief reason being cited in accepting refugees — Christians should receive priority simply because currently they are among the most persecuted groups in the Middle East. Along with the Yazidis, Christians are experiencing genocide at the hands of ISIS, as the State Department recently determined. The Islamic State has repeatedly forced Christians to renounce Christ or die; has enslaved and raped them, and desecrated or destroyed more than 400 of their churches.

As Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) put it this March, “Without doubt, Syrians of all confessions are being victimized by this savage war and are facing unimaginable suffering. But only Christians and other religious minorities are the deliberate targets of systematic persecution and genocide.”

Sunni Muslims are not being slaughtered, beheaded, and raped for refusing to renounce their faith; they are not having their mosques burned, nor are they being jailed and killed for apostasy, blasphemy, or proselytization. On the contrary, non-ISIS affiliated Sunnis are responsible for committing dozens of such atrocities against Christian minorities every single month all throughout the Islamic world.

Unsurprisingly, many Sunnis entering America and Europe — including the terrorists who killed 120 people in Paris, 32 people in Brussels, and 12 in California — share the same Sunni-sanctioned hate for and opposition to non-Muslim “infidels.” Director of National Intelligence James Clapper admits that ISIS is “taking advantage of the torrent of migrants to insert operatives into that flow.”

Even if one were to operate under the assumption that refugee status must be made available to all Syrians, regardless of religion, the simple demographics of Syria expose the pro-Sunni, anti-Christian bias of the current Obama refugee policy: Christians account for 10% of Syria’s total population — yet they account for less than 0.5% of the refugees received into America. Sunni Muslims are 74% of Syria’s population — yet 99% of those received into America. In other words, there should be 20 times more Christians and about one-quarter fewer Sunnis granted refugee status than there already have been.

Finally, the excuse given by those who defend this disparity rings totally false: According to the U.N. refugee agency UNHCR, Christian and other minorities “fear that registration might bring retribution from other refugees.” So supposedly they do not register and are left out of the process. As ongoing reports reveal, however, the majority of those at refugee camps — Sunnis — are persecuting the Christians in their midst, sometimes killing them. During one Mediterranean crossing from Libya to Sicily, Muslim “refugees” shouted “Allahu Akbar!” [“Allah is the Greatest!”] as they hurled as many as 53 Christians overboard.

Migrants arrive by boat in Italy after crossing from Libya. (Image source: Wikimedia Commons/Vito Manzari)

Although the U.N. and U.S. know that Sunni refugees are terrorizing Christians in their camps, they abandon the true victims who deserve sanctuary in the West, while “humanitarianly” taking in their persecutors.

The Catholic Church and several mainline Protestant denominations are equally guilty. Most recently, “Christian refugees [were] ‘let down’ by Pope [Francies]: he promised to take them to Italy but then took only Muslims instead.”

Such hypocrisy has been on open display since recent the problem of the U.S. accepting refugees from the Middle East arose. Months ago, Barack Obama — who was raised a Sunni Muslim — described the proposal that preference should be given to Christian minorities as “shameful”: “That’s not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion,” he said loftily.

Today, however, it is clear from the statistics alone that there is a very clear bias in the refugee program: it favors those most prone to committing acts of terror in America while ignoring those experiencing genocide. It is the Obama administration’s own refugee policies that are “shameful,” “not American,” and do not represent “who we are.”

The Ephramite Fable

A Speculative and Divisive Theology

Ancient tribal map of Israel

By Malcolm Hedding - Former Director of ICEJ; July 1,2016 - republished

The Ephraimite teaching has infiltrated the Christian Zionist movement and threatens to bring it into disrepute. Essentially, it is a misguided attempt to identify Gentile believers in Jesus with the half-tribe of Ephraim, which later in Scripture became synonymous with the Northern Kingdom of Israel exiled to Assyria in 722 BC. These Ten Tribes are deemed to be lost but now rediscovered in the Church! There are three versions of this error:

1. The actual theory

This view holds that Jesus only came for the lost tribes of Israel and only died for them. They deny the clear teaching of Scripture that He died for the world. His atonement is thus limited and those who embrace the Cross are in fact Ephraim, most without knowing it. Some adherents claim the right to make Aliyah!

2. The replacement theory

Those holding this view do not believe in a limited atonement but do believe that Ephraim was lost without recovery and has been replaced by them! In other words, they exist “instead of” the original tribe.

3. The affiliation theory

This group believes that in some way they are affiliated with Ephraim and appeal to a type of special revelation to explain this. In this context, they rely on much use of understanding terms, the secondary meanings of words, and spiritual speculation.

Ephramite Fable from the Word from Jerusalem All of this is nothing short of wishful thinking! It is nowhere supported in Scripture. Most important, the New Testament is totally silent about it and indeed attributes the passages that they claim refer to Ephraim to the Gentiles. This constitutes a huge problem, so they mostly steer clear of the New Testament to assert their position. In reality, the Ephraim teaching is nothing more than a version of the old British Israelism heresy! It exists on the false notion that the northern Ten Tribes of Israel were lost. They were not. They were simply dispersed abroad and found everywhere (James 1:1).

Moreover, Paul’s point in Romans 11 is not about a hidden Gentile identity but about the fact that Israel’s partial rejection of Jesus’ Messianic credentials opened the door for those who were “not My people” to be grafted into spiritual Israel (Romans 9:24-28; Hosea 1:8-10). These, in his thinking, are real Gentiles and he says it clearly. There is no hidden meaning here (Romans 11:11-26). This, too, is his theology in Ephesians 2:11-13.

In addition, a promise of rejection, of not being “My people,” is always followed by a promise of recovery. This is the plain meaning of Hosea 1:11. There is nothing more to be read into this. Paul only ever refers to non-Jews as Gentiles. He sees no other significance in the term “Gentiles.” The Ephraimite theorists that attempt otherwise are playing around with what Paul calls “Jewish fables” in Titus.

Further, the “two sticks’ of Ezekiel 37 are just what they indicate. That is, a day will come when Israel will not be known by tribes but by one naming entity. That day came a long time ago in that even by the time of Christ all of Abraham’s natural children were called Jews. Even Paul used the designation, although technically he was not a Jew but from the tribe of Benjamin! (Philippians 3:4-5) Today, Ezekiel’s vision of “one stick” has been fulfilled in that the Jews – inclusive of all the Israelite tribes – have returned home as one nation.

No theology is built on so-called unique revelation. This is Gnosticism, another early heresy that threatened to “derail” the Church (Colossians 2:18-23). The Bible is for all people for all time, including the lowly and uneducated. Its teaching, touching who we are, is clear and unambiguous in the New Testament. We are not Ephraim but Gentiles brought near by the grace of God to the commonwealth of Israel. We are not Israel by tribal affiliation.

To assert anything else is to pollute the Church with doctrines of contention and division.

United Methodist Church Votes Down Anti-Israel Boycotts

May 17, 2016 / United With Israel Staff

The United Methodist Church has voted over the weekend against a resolution calling for it to boycott Israel.

The church’s General Conference rejected four divestment screening resolutions, Religion News Service reported on Monday.

One was voted down Saturday by the church’s Finance Administration committee. Then three resolutions encouraging divestment were also rejected, according to the conference’s legislation tracker. The committee decided instead to favor a petition that had been amended into a “general commitment to responsible investment.”

The resolutions “pretty much went down in flames,” said John Lomperis, the director of the Institute on Religion and Democracy’s United Methodist Action Program and an opponent of boycotts on Israel.

Supporters of boycotts on Israel are reportedly seeking other venues of action.

“Adopting any of these petitions would be a step toward darker days in human history,” given Christianity’s history of violence toward Jewish people, one opponent to the anti-Israel motions told RNS.

The Methodist church has about 13 million members worldwide and is the largest mainline Protestant group in the United States.

The Episcopal Church has rejected boycott efforts, while the United Church of Christ in 2015 and the Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) in 2014 voted to divest from companies they deem “complicit in the occupation.”

This setback for divestment supporters came after a letter written in May by presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, a lifelong Methodist, in which she opposed the anti-Israel BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement targeting Israel as unfair to Israel and counterproductive to peace efforts between Israelis and Palestinians.

Obama Admin: Yes, We Lied to Israel About Iran

Monday, May 09, 2016 |  Israel Today Staff

Ben Rhodes, a deputy National Security Adviser to US President Barack Obama, revealed in a New York Times interview published last week what pretty much everyone already knew - the Obama White House lied to win approval for its Iran nuclear deal.

Getting a deal on the books was more important than the consequences of doing so, it was more important than the reality of an aggressive and nuclear-armed Iran.

That’s the gist of what Rhodes told the Times.

“We can do things that challenge the conventional thinking that, you know, ‘AIPAC doesn’t like this,’ or ‘the Israeli government doesn’t like this,’ or ‘the gulf countries don’t like it,’” Rhodes said. “It’s the possibility of improved relations with adversaries. It’s nonproliferation.”

Where Obama explicitly lied to allies and Americans was in describing the nuclear deal as having been struck with a “moderate” Iranian regime that had finally displaced a far more hard-line government in Tehran.

“The idea that there was a new reality in Iran was politically useful to the Obama administration,” read the Times article.

Had Obama been honest about the fact that the foundation for his deal had already been laid with the former hard-line Iranian government, and that the new “moderate” regime wasn’t really all that moderate, a lot more people would have taken the Israeli view of the nuclear agreement.

Former US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta was also interviewed, noting that another lie was the notion that America under Obama would ever resort to military force should Iran violate the agreement and field a nuclear weapon.

Just days after these revelations, the Iranian new agency Tasnim reported that Iran recently tested a new medium-range ballistic missile capable of accurately striking any point in Israel.

UN Censors Israel Over Golan Heights

A memo received: 4/29/16 - 1pm

Shalom IAMCS Rabbis,

Recently an article was published concerning an action the UN took against Prime Minister Netanyahu who was asserting that Israel will never let go of the Golan Heights. Netanyahu cited the miserable failure of land for peace attempts historically. He cited the example of Israel returning Southern Lebanon to the nation of Lebanon only to have the terrorists rush in, build terrorist camps and cities then launch raids and bombs at Israel. This pattern was later duplicated in Gaza.

Israel would have to be completely stupid to turn over the Golan Heights, which would make all of northern Israel vulnerable to the certainty of terrorist activity against the nation. It would even be more foolish for Israel to cede any part of what the world calls the West Bank or what is known in Scripture as Judea and Samaria. Ceding any portion of Judea and Samaria in the face of Islamic terror against Israel, would simply be national suicide.

What is incredible to watch and so sad to see is that the nations regularly turn a deaf ear to any of Israel’s concerns and ignore the constant barrage of terrorist activity sponsored by Moslem terror groups and activity against Israel. We all know that their standard is hypocritical and no nation would put up with terrorist activity against it without returning fire and attempting to crush it.

Truly, the UN has evolved into a blatantly anti-Semitic and anti-Israel organization.

Speaking of the prophetic return of the Jewish people to their land in latter days, the prophet Ezekiel foretells God’s direct involvement in the return of Israel with the following:

I will rescue them out of all the places where they have been scattered on a day of cloud and thick darkness. I will bring them out from the peoples. I will gather them from the countries. I will bring them back to their own land. (Ezekiel 34:12-13)

And again in Ezekiel 36:24;

For I will take you from the nations, gather you out of all the countries and bring you back to your own land.

In other words, whether the Jewish people are in or out of the land of Israel, it will always be God’s promised land to the lineage of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Fortunately, Israel has the one force in the universe that trumps all others and that is the God of Israel…the Creator Himself. He is solely responsible for the physical return of our people to the Land of Promise just as He predicted through His prophets would happen in latter days. Anyone working against His purposes and plan for Israel and mankind is in for a rude awakening and a very rough ride!

Don’t worry Israel, the God of Israel has your back! If God be for you who can be against you? (Romans 8:31)

Happy Passover everyone!

New UNESCO Resolution Erases Jewish Connection to Temple Mount

By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz April 17, 2016 , 1:22 am

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prays at the Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City, a day after the Israeli general elections.

On Friday, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) Executive Board in Paris adopted a resolution erasing Israel’s ties to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

The UNESCO resolution referred to the Temple Mount area solely as the Al-Aqsa Mosque or Al-Haram Al Sharif, ignoring the Jewish claim to the site.

The resolution called Israel “the occupying power” and the Western Wall as Al-Buraq Plaza. It demanded that Israel not restrict Muslim access to the Temple Mount, condemning Israel for “illegal measures against the freedom of worship” at the “Muslim holy site of worship”. It demanded a return to the “status quo”. The status quo since Israel conquered the Temple Mount in 1967 forbids non-Muslim prayer on the Temple Mount and has remained unchanged.

Blaming “Israel aggression” for the violence at the site, it had no mention of the role of Muslim rioters.

Let Jews Pray on the Temple Mount!

It also condemned the Israel’s plans to establish an egalitarian, non-Orthodox prayer section by Robinson’s Arch.

It accused Israel of “planting Jewish fake graves in other spaces of the Muslim cemeteries” located on Waqf property east and south of the Temple Mount, and of “the continued conversion of many Islamic and Byzantine remains into the so-called Jewish ritual baths or into Jewish prayer places.”.

I referred to Hebron and Bethlehem as solely “Palestinian sites”.

Authorized by the executive board’s Programme and External Relations Commission, the resolution was submitted by Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, and Sudan. The 58-member board approved the resolution with 33 votes in favor, six against and 17 abstentions. Two countries, Ghana and Turkmenistan were absent all together. Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the US voted against the resolution. France, Spain, Slovenia, Sweden, Russia and Slovenia were among those countries that supported the resolution.

Israeli ambassador to UNESCO, Carmel Shama, released a statement saying, “Even if UNESCO passes dozens of resolutions, and decides to continue passing thousands more, Jerusalem will always remain as part of the capital of Israel and the Jewish people.” Shama added, “As you continue on this path of incitement, lies and terror you will be sending UNESCO down a path towards irrelevance.”

“This is yet another absurd UN decision,” Netanyahu said Saturday. “UNESCO ignores the unique historic connection of Judaism to the Temple Mount, where the two temples stood for a thousand years and to which every Jew in the world has prayed for thousands of years. The UN is rewriting a basic part of human history and has again proven that there is no low to which it will not stoop.”

One State Solution

As Passover Approaches “Blood-Red Nile” Image May Have Divine Implications

A recent photo of the Nile and surrounding desert, taken from the European Space Agency’s newly launched satellite, has unexpectedly caused the Book of Exodus to pop up in media headlines all over the world. The photo, which shows the Nile as blood-red, generated an international buzz which even the most mainstream news outlets connected to the obvious association – the Bible.

CBS News called the sight “Biblical”, saying it looked like “something from the Old Testament”, and Fox News drew “parallels to the first Biblical plague in Egypt.” Even Technology Pep, a tech website normally vacant of anything spiritual, saw the connection to the story of the first plague.

However, though it was a powerful image universally recognized, the real message may have been lost on all but the Biblically oriented.

The Sentinel 3-A was launched in February as the third satellite in the Copernicus program, purported to be the most sophisticated Earth observation system to date. The startling image was created using a radiometer, which measures heat generated by vegetation for monitoring environmental changes. These images will help scientists track and predict droughts more accurately, but it had an entirely different impact on people with a Biblical perspective.

With the holiday of Passover only a few short weeks away, the message is clear. While Jews drip wine onto their plates at the holiday seder, the viral satellite photo of a blood-red Nile stands as a strong reminder that the Exodus from Egypt was not an archaeological theory or fable with a moral, but a Biblical  narrative about an actual event that could reappear in the news with a renewed message relevant in a modern context.

When Moses turned the Nile to blood, it was a blow directed at the heart of Egypt’s sustenance, the base of their power in the region. The steady source of water and the cycles of flooding gave them a misplaced feeling of  independence from divine assistance. Nahmanides, a prominent 12th century Torah scholar from Spain, wrote in his commentary on the plagues that the primary reason God punished the Egyptians was not for enslaving the Israelite people, but for dismissing God and his influence in their life. The message has similar significance today when, due to advanced technology, most consider themselves free from the need to turn to the heavens for sustenance.

The power intrinsic in water is often overlooked in an age when, in most developed countries, a quick twist of a faucet solves what is still a life threatening situation in other areas of the world. Nonetheless, this basic need can still occasionally be felt in the United States in ways reminiscent of plague-stricken Egypt.

After neglecting pollution in Lake Erie for years, in 2014 residents of Toledo were reminded of their dependence on outside sustenance when their tap water was discovered to be contaminated. Flint, Michigan is still suffering from a water crisis and lingering health issues resulting from lead contamination. Opening the faucet and receiving life-giving water, a luxury taken for granted by millions, became a precious commodity, a reminder of daily needs.

A more graphic reminder of the plague came when Environmental Protection Agency workers accidentally released one million gallons of toxic mine waste into the Animas River, turning it bright orange in a Colorado reenactment of the first plague in Egypt.

In the Bible story, Pharaoh’s magicians were able to recreate the miracle created by Aaron and Moses, but they were unable to reverse it. The same can be said for the modern incarnations. The new satellite will help scientists predict droughts, but ultimately, technology is dependant on the natural aspect of God, a reminder of our dependence on divine sustenance.

Temple to Ba’al, Ancient Idol Worshiped in Biblical Times, Will Stand in Times Square

Next month, a symbol of Biblical paganism which was stamped out after monotheism appeared with the patriarch Abraham will rise in two of the major cultural centers of the world, London and New York, the New York Times reported.

The original center of idol worship on which the structures will be modeled stood in Palmyra, Syria, for 2,000 years – until ISIS arrived in August of 2015 and, viewing the temple as a formidable spiritual threat and symbol of idolatry, destroyed it.

ISIS has reduced to rubble many ancient religious and Biblical sites since it began its reign in Iraq and Syria: St. Elijah’s Monastery, the tomb of the Biblical prophet Jonah, the ancient city of Ninevah. While the world has mourned the loss of these irreplaceable sites, only one will be rebuilt: the arch of the Temple of Palmyra, better known as the Temple of Ba’al.

Uusing a database of thousands of photos, the Institute for Digital Archaeology will create a full-sized, 15-meter tall, 3D-printed replica of the entrance arch to the Temple of Palmyra, one of the few elements of the destroyed temple still standing. The pieces will be made off-site and then assembled in place in London’s Trafalgar Square and New York’s Times Square. The arches will be centerpieces for the UNESCO World Heritage Week in April.

Meanwhile, Syria has reconquered Palmyra and despite an ongoing humanitarian crisis, the government is dedicating resources to rebuild the temple.

Ironically, the Temple of Palmyra, lauded as a symbol of defiance in the face of religious extremism, was built for ancient idol worship which preached a form of moral decrepitude that may sound startlingly familiar.

Palmyra was dedicated in 32 CE to the worship of Bel, or as most Bible readers would know him, Ba’al. Lower levels of the ground underneath the Temple of Palmyra indicate human occupation that goes back to the third millennium BC. Converted into a Christian church during the Byzantine Era, parts of the structure were modified into a mosque by Muslims in 1132. It remained in use as a mosque until the 1920s.

The Temple was originally dedicated to the Mesopotamian god Ba’al, whose principal forms of worship were burning babies alive and bisexual orgies. Symbolizing a major religion that challenged Judaism, Ba’al was mentioned in the Bible over 90 times, becoming the archetype of worshipping evil.

The devotees of Ba’al believed he was the source of rain and universal bounty. Promiscuity was not penalized, as unwanted children could be offered up to the god, nor was procreation valued, as homosexual relations were encouraged. Pantheistic, they worshipped Mother Nature while rejecting the concept of a creator.

While these extreme beliefs are no longer widespread, disturbing parallels to modern morality and culture have emerged in recent years.

Throughout America and the world,  the rights of those that object to the growth of an unrestricted sexual culture are increasingly at odds with a liberal mentality which welcomes sexual freedom. In legal cases which pit religious freedom against gay rights, businesses, facing fines and punitive actions, are required to violate their religious beliefs and conform to state-enforced moral codes. Religious colleges are threatened with loss of accreditation over policies concerning sexuality.

In his State of the Union Address in January, President Barack Obama channeled pantheism when he stated that the largest threat to American security was climate change, ignoring the growing and immediate threat of Islamic terrorism and privileging nature over human life.

In contrast to the rest of the Western world, Ba’al is unlikely to be celebrated anytime soon in Israel, which has a history of triumphing over the pagan god. The story begins with the prophet Elijah at the Carmel.

As written in chapter 18 of I Kings, Jezebel, the foreign wife of King Ahab, convinces her husband to kill the prophets and promote the worship of Ba’al and Asherah. Elijah defied their decrees, hiding prophets and challenging the priests of Ba’al to a contest on Mount Carmel.

The priests of Ba’al were unsuccessful in calling fire down from heaven to burn the bull offering on their altar. Elijah soaked his altar with water and called down a fire that consumed his bull and the entire altar. The priests of Ba’al were killed and the Children of Israel repented, returning to God.

Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, the former Chief Rabbi of Great Britain, made a prescient comment on the new moral reality in an article in the the Wall Street Journal in 2011, warning, “A tsunami of wishful thinking has washed across the West saying that you can have sex without the responsibility of marriage, children without the responsibility of parenthood, social order without the responsibility of citizenship, liberty without the responsibility of morality and self-esteem without the responsibility of work and earned achievement.”

Worship of Ba’al, replete with child sacrifice and orgies, may not be returning. However, in the name of freedom, Western culture has incorporated extreme elements that seriously challenge Judeo-Christian beliefs and values.

Rabbinate Furious Over High Court Conversion Ruling

In a major decision, the Israeli High Court ruled on Thursday that any conversion to Judaism performed by any Orthodox Bet Din (Rabbinical court), in Israel or abroad, will be valid for the purposes of obtaining Israeli citizenship under the law of return.

The petition leading to the court case was filed by a group of converts whose status had been refused by the state and the Israeli rabbinate. They were joined in their court battle by the Conservative and Reform movements.

The court ruling affects civil issues and not religious. The court of nine justices headed by Chief Justice Miriam Naor announced while making its decision, “This is not a religious question, but rather a civil-public one… We are not determining anything in these proceedings on the question of recognizing the conversion that the petitioners underwent in other contexts.”

The Chief Rabbinate controls all aspects of Jewish ritual in Israel, such as marriage, divorce and burial.

Until now, converts could only gain Israeli citizenship if they converted outside of Israel and lived in a Diaspora Jewish community, or converted in Israel under the auspices of the Chief Rabbinate. Foreign conversions do not need to be Orthodox.

Justice Naor wrote in her decision:

“I do not see any justification to interpret the Law of Return in a way that will cause discrimination between those who converted in Israel and those who converted abroad. For this reason, too, we must grant preference to the interpretation according to which conversion for the purpose of the Law of Return is a conversion conducted in a recognized Jewish community, be it performed in Israel or abroad.”

Many considered the Chief Rabbinate’s oversight to be monopolistic. The rabbinate’s control over all aspects of Jewish life has been the focus of several court battles recently. Almost two months ago, Israel’s Supreme Court ruled that mikvahs (ritual baths) in the country must open up to non-Orthodox conversion rituals. In addition, at the end of January, the government approved a non-Orthodox section for prayer at the Kotel (Western Wall).

Justice Neal Hendel wrote in his decision: “It is true that in our country there is the Chief Rabbinate which is trusted with a variety of religious issues. Our purpose is not to challenge its status, but in our case the Law of Return does not endow the Chef Rabbinate with an exclusive control over the process of conversions.”

“Creating an excessive concentration of power and giving the Chief Rabbinate complete monopoly over the institution of conversions — a monopoly whose practical meaning would be the adoption of a more severe approach and placing obstacles before Jews who wish to make Aliyah — are in contrast with the central purpose of the Law of Return, which is encouraging Aliyah,” Hendel wrote.

It should also be emphasized that the court’s ruling specified conversions performed by recognized Orthodox rabbis, and not from any other movement, though the Reform movement hailed this as the beginning of major change.

Reform Rabbi Gilad Kariv, head of the Reform movement in Israel, said, “The High Court decision determines unambiguously that there exists more than one way to convert in the State of Israel, and that a conversion which is conducted in a Jewish community in Israel belonging to one of the Jewish denominations would be recognized as valid.”

Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef , called the ruling “scandalous,” saying, “It is inconceivable that the ‘pirate’ conversion industry that is not regulated by any governmental body will be recognized as official.”

Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi David Lau reacted by saying, “The Supreme Court and its justices will not decide who is a Jew; only the Torah of Israel will.”

UN Chief Reveals His Dangerous Anti-Israel Obsession in NY Times Op-Ed

February 1, 2016 By Ap & United Staff

With his term as secretary-general coming to an end, Ban Ki-moon wrote an op-ed in the New York Times in which he attacks Israel, a clear indication that he has decided to focus solely on the Israeli-Palestinian problem – ignoring hundreds of other, worse, conflicts around the world. His obsession with Israel suggests he has lost any inhibitions in hiding his deep bias against, and hatred for, the Jewish State.

As United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon’s term comes to an end, it appears he has decided to ruin the last shreds of the UN’s supposed impartiality and wage an open battle against Israel.

In an opinion piece published Sunday by The New York Times, Ban deflected Israeli criticism of his attacks on its policies, which he had called “unsustainable,” and stood by comments he made last week, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said encouraged Palestinian terrorism against Israel.

In the piece titled, “Don’t Shoot the Messenger, Israel,” Ban reiterated many of his earlier comments at the Security Council (UNSC) Tuesday, calling Israeli construction in Judea and Samaria and in Jerusalem “an affront to the Palestinian people,” adding that “it is human nature to resist occupation,” meaning the legitimate, legal and historic Israeli presence in these areas is “occupation.”

He also called for a freeze of construction in Judea and Samaria, home to 400,000 Israelis.

“Criticism of the United Nations — or attacks against me — comes with the territory,” he wrote, yet claiming that his “heartfelt concerns” about what he termed as “short-sighted or morally damaging policies” emanate from many sources, including Israel’s closest friends.

“It [Israel] cannot be sustainable to keep lashing out at every well-intentioned critic,” Ban wrote.

Ban claimed that he would always stand up for Israel’s right to exist, but added: “the time has come for Israelis, Palestinians and the international community to read the writing on the wall: The status quo is untenable. Keeping another people under indefinite occupation undermines the security and the future of both Israelis and Palestinians.”

Ban’s harsh piece was ostensibly sparked by Israel’s recent approval of 150 new homes in Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria.

In the opinion piece, Ban also pointed out that last month Israel declared 370 acres in the West Bank, “state land,” which he said “typically leads to exclusive settler use.”

He made no mention that a future Palestinian state would be for exclusive Palestinian use.

The UN under Ban’s leadership has become an exceedingly anti-Israel body, with a morbid focus on the Jewish State, while ignoring other crucial global issues.

Ban does not appear to have written a similar piece about any other conflict on any other country during his tenure as UN secretary general.

Just last week, Israeli envoy to the UN Danny Danon cited the UNSC for its lack of response to Palestinian terror attacks against Israelis.

During the last four months, during which Israel has suffered from a wave of almost daily Palestinian terror attacks, the UNSC has adopted twelve resolutions against terrorism and condemned terrorist attacks in France, the Sinai, Lebanon, Mali, Tunisia, Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Somalia, and Sudan.

Yet, “not once were the lives of Israelis murdered by terrorists recognized by this Council. No condemnation, no expression of solidarity, not even a statement of concern. The facts don’t lie. The Security Council has been hypocritical when it comes to Israel,” Danon charged.

Responding to the op-ed, Danon said the Ban was again expressing support and justifying Palestinian terrorism.

“There is no excuse for the murder of women at their homes in front of their children,” Danon stated, relating to the Palestinian murder of Dafna Meir in front of her children at the entrance to her home.

“The Palestinian incitement machine continues to generate terrorism, while the UN secretary general’s words generate legitimacy for terrorism, Danon charged.

Danon again underlined Ban’s choice to ignore the reality in Israel, and instead of lending it support in its war on terrorism, he chooses to support the knife-wielding Palestinians.

“The UN’s function is to fight terrorism, not encourage it,” said Danon.

US to Join EU in Labeling Products from Judea and Samaria

February 1, 2016

After months of heated debate over the European Union (EU) labeling products made in Judea and Samaria, the US is now quietly doing the same, but without the fuss or discussion.

The US Customs Department released a statement last Saturday reminding importers of a regulation from 1995 that goods produced in the West Bank must be labeled as such, and not labeled “Made in Israel”.

“Goods produced in the West Bank or Gaza Strip shall be marked as originating from ‘West Bank,’ ‘Gaza,’ ‘Gaza Strip,’ ‘West Bank/Gaza,’ ‘West Bank/Gaza Strip,’ ‘West Bank and Gaza,’ or ‘West Bank and Gaza Strip’. It is not acceptable to mark the aforementioned goods with the words ‘Israel,’ ‘Made in Israel,’ ‘Occupied Territories-Israel,’ or any variation thereof. Goods that are erroneously marked as products of Israel will be subject to an enforcement action carried out by US Customs and Border Protection,” the memo read.

State Department spokesman Mark Toner was asked at a press conference if this was intended as a rebuke to Israel for recent settlement expansion.

He responded that it was “simply a restatement of previous requirements” and does not “impose additional requirements”. He stressed that it was in no way a boycott.

It was pointed out that the policy had not been enforced in 20 years.

Toner claimed the decision to enforce it now came as a result of recent complaints, but he declined to specify where the complaints originated.

Toner was then asked if this was a move towards a universally stricter adherence to customs regulations and labeling, for example in the case of “Transnistrian products going to the US [labeled] as made in Russia”.

He responded that no changes were anticipated in regards to any other countries.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) told the Forward it doesn’t object to the reminder being issued.

“This long-standing Customs policy, in contrast to the actions of the European Union, was not intended to stigmatize Israeli products but to merely facilitate duty free access to the US market for Palestinian goods,” said AIPAC spokesman Marshall Wittman. “It does not distinguish among manufacturers in the territories.”

This may be true, but the US policy carries a sting the EU policy does not. The EU policy does not bear a fine for non-compliance, but the US Customs policy carries a fine of 10% the value of the product, which the US Customs Department will presumably remember to begin enforcing.

It is true that this policy, passed through Congress and duly legislated, was a result of the Oslo Accords and as such, was welcomed by Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin, but it is unwelcome by the Israelis in its new incarnation.

An Israeli official told YNet, “It is hard to believe that customs officials would randomly decide to publish a notice just because someone complained that guidelines are not being enforced. It’s convenient for them to present it as being a technical issue but in the US things never happen just by chance.”

He added that “under the guise of a technical notice the Americans are taking a political step. Israel will have to decide whether this is a technical reissuing of guidelines or a politically important directive.”

The Obama Administration’s Most Covert War

Over the past several weeks, we have learned that the Obama administration believes it is at war with Israel. The war is not a shooting war, but a political war. Its goal is to bring the government to its knees to the point where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu loses power or begs Obama and his advisers to shepherd Israel through a “peace process” in which Israel will renounce its rights to Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.

One component of this war is espionage. Last month The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel is a top target for American espionage.

The other component of the administration’s war against Israel is political subversion. Over the past week, the administration has campaigned against the NGO bill sponsored by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked. If the bill, which was approved by the government, becomes law, it will require political NGOs that are principally financed by foreign governments to identify as foreign agents in their official communications and interactions.

Last week, State Department spokesman James Kirby lambasted the bill at an official briefing. Among other things, Kirby rejected Shaked’s claim that her bill is less restrictive than the US’s own Foreign Agents Registration Act. Kirby offered no substantiation of his claim.

Earlier this week, US Ambassador Dan Shapiro met with Shaked. Following their meeting, the US Embassy published two statements attacking the NGO law. In one of them, the embassy sought to substantiate Kirby’s claim regarding FARA. By the embassy’s telling, FARA relates only to agents whose action are directly guided by foreign governments, while Shaked’s NGO bill relates to entities that receive financing from foreign governments whether or not their actions are directed by the government financiers.

The embassy’s claim is deeply misleading.

As attorney Lorri Lowenthal Marcus explained this week in The Jewish Press, in practice, the burden of proof that US entities are not directed by foreign governments that fund them falls on the entities, not on the US government. In her words, the US law “uses ambiguous words and tests which are far more likely to lead to over-broad applications and chilling of speech than does the straightforward Israeli proposal’s standard.”

Moreover, whereas Shaked’s proposed NGO law would fine entities that fail to abide by reporting restrictions, under FARA, US entities that fail to abide by the restrictions of the law can face both fines and up to five years in prison.

The duplicitous nature of the administration’s assault on Shaked’s bill is all the more obvious when we consider how senior US officials view these politicized organizations.

Currently, the State Department is slowly fulfilling a federal court order to publish the emails Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton sent from her private email server during her tenure as secretary of state. Over the past several weeks, the department has published a number of emails regarding Israel that reveal the depth of hostility Clinton’s closest advisers harbored toward Israel.

Last week, one such email demonstrated that Clinton’s senior anti-Israel advisers viewed radical Israeli-registered NGOs as agents for the administration to use in order to carry out covert anti-Israel policies.

The email in question is a letter Clinton received in December 2011 from retired ambassador Thomas Pickering. Clinton asked her chief of staff to print out his letter.

Pickering’s illustrious career reached its peak during Bill Clinton’s administration. Clinton’s husband appointed Pickering, a former ambassador to Israel, to serve as undersecretary of state for policy planning, the third-most senior position at the State Department.

Pickering retired in 2001, at the end of the Clinton years. Since retiring, he has enjoyed the status of elder statesman among the American foreign policy elite. He has also been a loyal supporter and lobbyist for Iran, and a signatory on numerous plans to stick it to Israel.

In his letter to Clinton, Pickering recommended using leftist NGOs – including Peace Now, which he mentioned by name – to destabilize the political situation on the ground in Israel.

Pickering set out a plan, which in his view would force Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ask the Americans to initiate a new diplomatic process with the Palestinians.

Pickering’s plan involved organizing a protest movement of Palestinian and Israeli women to “bring continuing pressure to change minds at the top.”

On the Palestinian side, Pickering said, “there might be peaceful demonstrations against all aspects of the occupation on the Palestinian sides – roadblocks, land confiscations, new settlement activity, around military government installations and perhaps in Area C, which they do not control.”

These actions Pickering wrote, “could create the kind of action which no army can easily use force to deal with…. With all and only women demonstrating peacefully under the eyes of the world, the chances are much less force will be used against them, since that action has its own consequences.”

In other words, Pickering sought to organize provocations of IDF units “under the eyes of the world,” in which IDF soldiers would be portrayed as being mean to Palestinian women. These women for their part would provoke them to be mean by interfering with military operations or disrupting the lives of Israeli citizens in Judea and Samaria.

Pickering made no bones about the covert nature of this US anti-Israel subversion. He warned Clinton, “Most of all the United States, in my view, cannot be seen to have stimulated encouraged or be the power behind it for reasons you will understand better than anyone.

“I believe third parties and a number of NGOs on both sides would help.”

That is, Clinton’s confidante, the elder statesman who organized a lobby on behalf of Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran, called for the secretary of state to use radical Israeli NGOs as US agents to carry out a covert US operation against an allied government.

A notable aspect of Pickering’s plan is his underlying assumption that the US-organized demonstrations would be filmed and used against Israel in the court of public opinion.

For the past several years, the US government has funded B’Tselem’s video project.

According to NGO Monitor, in 2014 the US paid some $68,000 for the project which provides video cameras and photographic training to Palestinians. The goal is for them to film IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians in fraught situations and call their morality and legitimacy into question.

It was his recognition that cameras are the new weapon of Israel’s enemies that caused Gilad Ach, a 32-year-old master’s student at Tel Aviv University, to form his own NGO – Ad Kan. Ad Kan’s goal is to penetrate radical Israeli NGOs to expose their problematic activities.

In a bit of bad timing for the administration, last Thursday, the same day Kirby launched the administration’s public assault against Shaked’s NGO bill, and just before Pickering’s email to Clinton was published, Uvda, Channel 2’s investigative news magazine, broadcast a report revealing some of the findings that Ach and his colleagues have uncovered in Ad Kan’s three-year operation.

Over the past three years, Ad Kan employees have seeded themselves inside radical Israeli NGOs and surreptitiously filmed their operations.

The footage broadcast last week on Uvda showed senior “human rights” operatives for B’Tselem and Ta’ayush, Nasser Nawajah and Ezra Nawi, plotting to bring about the arrest, torture and murder of a Palestinian by the Palestinian Authority’s US-trained and -funded security services.

The Palestinian in question was, as far as they were concerned, marked for torture and murder because he was hoping to sell his land to Jews in the South Hebron Hills around the Israeli community of Sussiya.

One of the strangest aspects of the Uvda report was the radical Left’s response to it. By and large, leftist groups refused to condemn what Nawi and Nawajah were doing. B’Tselem, which is supposed to fight for Palestinian human rights, said that it is legitimate to turn Palestinians who wish to sell their property to Jews over to the PA, despite the fact that the PA’s penalty for such actions is death.

Beyond what their refusal to condemn solicitation of murder and torture says about their commitment to Palestinian human rights, the radical Left’s silence reveals just how key Nawi and Nawajah are to their operations.

In a word, Nawajah and Nawi are superstars of the radical Left in Israel and throughout the Western world. Last July, Nawajeh published an op-ed in The New York Times. In it, he accused Israel of denying the property rights of Palestinians in the exact area where he and Nawi plotted the murder of a Palestinian who sought to exercise his property rights by selling his land to Israelis.

As Liel Liebowitz reported in the Tablet online magazine, in 2007, after Nawi was arrested at a violent protest against the IDF, 20,000 people, including the who’s who of the radical Left in Israel and in the US, signed a petition demanding his immediate release.

Leading members of the Boycott, Sanctions and Divestment movement in the US, including Jewish Voices for Peace, have financed Nawi’s activities.

Pickering recommended using NGOs to organize protests. Ad Kan exposed how this is done.

On Monday, Channel 2 broadcast Ad Kan surveillance footage showing a Breaking the Silence employee paying Nawi and his Ta’ayush colleague Guy Botavia for organizing a demonstration against IDF soldiers. Botavia serves as the head of Ta’ayush’s video project.

In the same report, Ta’ayush activists are filmed paying Palestinians in cash for participating in the demonstration, in which they threw rocks at IDF soldiers.

In a conversation this week with The Jerusalem Post, Ach claimed that without the NGOs, the Palestinians would not be demonstrating. “I asked one of the Palestinians if he would be rioting if the NGO wasn’t paying him. He said no.

“I asked him what he does when he isn’t rioting.

He said he’s a construction worker in Modi’in Illit, [an Israeli settlement beyond the 1949 armistice lines]. That is, five days a week, Israelis pay him to build settlements, and the rest of the week, other Israelis pay him to throw rocks on soldiers.

“This guy only works for Israelis – either to build or destroy,” Ach wryly noted.

One of the common claims the far Left has made in response to the Uvda report is that if the report is all Ad Kan managed to learn in three years of planting moles in these groups, then clearly there is nothing to expose.

But Ach explains, what Ad Kan has revealed to date is merely the tip of the iceberg.

And so, as the Obama administration ratchets up its political war against Israel in its final year in office, we can expect to learn that like the administration itself, the NGOs the administration is so concerned about protecting have and will stop at nothing to achieve their goal of demonizing Israel and destroying its good name in the Western world.

Hillory Clinton Advised to Foment Palestinian Resistance

January 13, 2016

JNS.org – Former secretary of state and current Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton was advised in 2011 to force Israel to resume peace negotiations by secretly fomenting a Palestinian uprising, according to a newly revealed email.

The plan was uncovered as part of the ongoing investigation into Clinton’s private emails while she served as secretary of state. In an email on Dec. 18, 2011, former US ambassador Thomas Pickering, who was serving as an adviser to Clinton at the time, suggested that the US covertly generate Palestinian unrest in an effort to push Jerusalem to jump-start stalled peace talks.

“What will change the situation is a major effort to use nonviolent protests and demonstrations to put peace back in the center of people’s aspirations as well as their thoughts, and use that to influence the political leadership,” Pickering wrote.

Clinton requested that his email be printed.

Pickering was the U.S. ambassador to Israel from 1985-88. In his email, he claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “cannot deliver anything the Palestinians can accept without our help. He is much more satisfied with the status quo than with the risks of change.” He also urged Israeli protests, writing, “On the Israeli side, it must be public demonstrations and show growth as well. Outside the Prime Minister’s Office and the major squares and parks in Jerusalem and elsewhere have been the traditional places for demonstrations like this for peace and change to begin and persevere. Rabin Square in Tel Aviv would be right.”

Pickering also recommended that any US involvement in his plan be hidden.

“Most of all the United States, in my view, cannot be seen to have stimulated, encouraged, or be the power behind it for reasons you will understand better than anyone,” he wrote.

It is not clear how Clinton reacted, if at all, to Pickering’s idea.
